want to install windows 98 on my comp so i can play my old games without XP screaming at me or the games crashing before the get to the start menu.

Is it better to just build an old computer or can i just make a small partition for it without anything going shits up with XP?

You'll probably just want to use an older machine.

You can put the applications in windows 98 mode, using xp, that works.. sometimes..

Yes you can, you'll need to install and configure a bootloader though. No I'm not going to go in to details but I'll link you the two that I have used.

I do believe windows XP install discs can also help you set up a boot loader, but I've never used that lol.
