Zigma has a point though. Some Laptops and even desktops now use technology called speedstep which allows it to chance the clock speed of the core. This allows it to conserve energy/battery life.

On my Laptop I'd hawl ass across the zone, luckily noone ever bothered me about it. (Alot more than 12%... Faster than a Chocobo.) Desktop only for me.

Needless to say, its like self-entrapment, "hey lets leave a bug in the game that screws over a player" lol!!!
When I did argue my case, the GM still said I had to be using a speed hack since there are no problems with the game and that if it was a bug it was one that was never reported...I guess I got the GM from the special olympics![]()
I've been running around at 30-33fps on and off for like 9 months without getting suspended. The weird thing is that after one of the patches earlier this year, I couldn't get my fps uncapped anymore (yay fixed). Suddenly after the latest ToAU patch, I noticed it becoming uncapped again (good job SE). It's weird and random how it's activated. All I do is reboot my PC repeatedly until it's uncapped. Usually I don't even want it uncapped but am just too lazy to reboot again and hope it becomes normal. I don't overclock my cpu but my videocard is a BFG Geforce that comes OC'd from the factory which may have something to do with it, but I doubt it.
The best ways to not get caught are just to not let people notice you running past them while side-by-side. Because of the way people see other people move, it's really hard for someone to tell that you move faster than them unless they're being passed up while you're both running in a straight line. So just stagger your running, follow them, or do what I do and zigzag your running.
And whatever you do, DON'T chocobo in a straight line with other people around you. You move A LOT faster than other chocobos XD
again, overclocking your cpu, your video card, your chipset, hell, overclocking your soundcard, will not, i repeat, will not cause you to run faster, this is a glitch in the game due to bad and lazy programming
IF overclocking caused you to run faster, everyone running on a computer faster than a ps2 would be hauling ass all day long, because the game is designed to run on ps2, the slowest of all the machines it can run on, meaning anything faster than a ps2 you will be "speed hacking" according to a gm
Their exact policy as far as Movement Speed is concerned is this:
If you're moving faster than you should be able to, it's against the Terms of Service and they will suspend you, no matter what the cause. A Senior Game Master has confirmed this with me. I've also been told by said Game Master that the problem occurs when you plug in your laptop to charge it after it starts running low on Battery power.
Edit: Grammarlol
This happened to my friend and I just now...someone saw him moving faster than his w legs shouldve been carrying him ;x I was there with him...so bam. Wtf GMs? -.-Originally Posted by gemini~cusp
