Forget it. I guess I was more shocked hearing it in a different fashion then the original. She's a great singer and pianist.
It seemed like Nobuo Uematsu had a lot of fun playing on that keyboard.

I thought it was better, singing live (and singing it well) has something about it I can't describe but makes it so good. Only thing I didn't like about it was some stupid motions she made, but I guess that's expected if you really get into the music. Also Kiss me Goodbye was really good too.
I wasn't expecting the Sephiroth theme to get an encore, but it a good theme I suppose (AC version is the best).
One Winged Angel is always the encore, I had my friend asking me for the FF concert that opened with Liberi Fatali and closed with Angel.... that was fun.
The Ronfaure arrangement on Tour de Japon might be my favorite orchestrated game piece ever. I always liked the Ronfaure music, but the arrangement really gives it a lot more depth, really amazing.
During the Chocobo song, the Audience sounds so offbeat with their clapping =/
It appears that they are clapping offbeat because they're hearing the music "later" than we are, and we're hearing they're clapping after they are. As far as I know, most concert recordings that have audience clapping to the beat have to be resynched after the fact.
Orchestra plays a note.
Microphone records it.
It gets processed by the sound system and then gets sent to the speakers.
Sound travels from speakers to the audience.
Audience claps.
Sound travels back from the audience to the mics, and is recorded seemingly offbeat.
The sound's travel time is non-trivial in this case, so it seems as if they're clapping off beat.
Edit: If there aren't speakers, just leave that line out. >.> I was thinking in general about concerts, not about symphonies hehe.
I'll be gong to the Play! Symphony next week. Anyone interested should check it out.

If it's anything like the More Friends concert in LA last year (which also had an album release, BTW), there would have been a large video screen playing clips from the games to go with the songs - during the Chocobo song, they had a montage of the various chocobos from FF, and people clapped every time they showed a new chocobo/game.Originally Posted by Kuponut
Just wanted to say thanks very much for the links. The DVD especially is awesome, beautiful music there. And you know, the first time I watched it, I also felt iffy about Eyes On Me. After watching it again though, it's suddenly grown on me. Nice voice and damn, she's cute. Talented hottie wearing geeky glasses and sweater/jeans to a symphony = very win.![]()
