I'd get it 4 years after it's been on the market and get to the endgame in 2 months that people have been doing and re-doing for the last 3 years.

What people haven't mentioned is that despite ToA release and XBox 360 release, FFXI's numbers have been on the downturn. Anyone thats been XPing lower level characters recently knows that the 360 brought a visible quantity of new players to the game. What this means is that people ARE quitting FFXI now in significant numbers. In 2 years CoP didn't deliever and ToA has yet to. When linkshell members come back from WoW for a look and ask whats to do and we say "gind some merits, get your turban then come camp kings" they flee for their fucking lives back to WoW.

I read it a bit differently. I notice that from what I can extrapolate, there are two datapoints towards the end of FF's listing. One around january-march (Just pre-ToAU) and one in may-june (Just after). Both datapoints read the same information, that being approximately 500,000 subscribers.

My interpretation: I would argue there is significant evidence that there is a loss of players from FF. The reason for this is as mentioned earlier, we're all seen a significant number of 360 players on each server who have recently joined the game. Despite this, the number of accounts on the chart remains static. While there is some small element of guesswork involved in the creation of the chart, I feel the numbers in place are reasonably good assumptions. This means therefore that for the 360 players that have joined, an equal number of older players have left the game.

For this reason I think we're going under 500k, if not now then later.

The fact that the obvious number of new players hasn't increased the overall number of players means that players have been quitting in equal or greater numbers. If there were (say) 5000 accounts on the server and 500 Xbox360 players have joined and are playing but there are STILL 5000 accounts on the server this means... 500 people have quit. Seriously, if you can't understand something this simple, please never post again because the inescapeable fact is that you're extremely braindamaged.

I'm not going to attack him or anything, I just don't understand why a person would play something they're so critical of. I'd understand if they made constructive criticism, but I've never noticed him being objective.

I used to play quite a bit. Now it's more like 10hr/week (dynamis + limbus) + occasional king camps which are 1 minute of playing to 29 minutes of doing other things. I don't feel like leveling yet another job right now and theres nothing else to do.

30 days free EQ reactivation, I may actually play that a bit. With an expansion every 6ish months that are each easily 3 times the size of a FFXI expansion, there are actually things to do other than grind new jobs.
