I see... so this is kinda sac pulling?
Wait... I'm still not sure how this works. If you carby pulled the elemental, then carby will also have hate on the SMN regardless. If your PT/alliance get the elemental carby pulled from SMN, don't your PT/alliance get the hate from carby too eventually?

    Re: Low number Limbus

We have a WHM/SMN outside of the alliance Carbuncle pull the Light Elementals one at a time and bring them to the group. Dropping them from party first is a failsafe against MPK that could occur if they messed up the pull by mistake. When the pull is performed correctly and the Light Elemental is safely chasing them without any links, we invite them back to the party.

    Re: Low number Limbus

So...your WHM/SMN (out of party) Assaults one of the light elementals and then...runs way out of the room and waits for their avatar to die? Or are they supposed to use Release? We seem to mess this pull up almost all of the time, and my SMN is 13, so I'd like to understand what's going on. It's not a problem, since we just sleepga the elementals and kill Carby first, but being able to consistently pull them separately would certainly be easier.

    Re: Low number Limbus

Is the hate alliance based or just 'whoever is in the zone' based ? As for the carby pull if I were doing it I'd just let them kill him to be safe. I've screwed up carby pulls before and it's far safer.

I think we do ES Sleepga on Carby so the Light Elementals are asleep. And one RDM or BLM watches them with Grav, Silence and Resleep while we fight Carbuncle at the ramp, melees down, mages up. Not having any death that way and can fight Elementals easily afterwards. Never thought of Carby pulling it (doing it next time)

Sorry if its been mentioned here but, Omega is capped at 4 pods max? Today omega refused to pop the 5th and was up to a min late before we finished it before time ran thin.

    I'm pretty certain it's:

First form change from 4 legs to 2 legs pops one,
    25% pops one,
    every 5 minutes after that.

It's pretty close to that anyway, I know I've seen more than 4 before.

Question of my own that I may have missed. Has anyone solo'd Apollyon SW? I believe last time I read a discussion on it there was some doubt as to if someone could take down the 3rd floor chest before it killed them or not.

    Re: Low number Limbus

We had 5 pods last omega. Thats if you can get it down to 100% to 25% in 5 minutes, which can be a pain depending on which form it stays in.

As for soloing SW, i could see it possible but yeah, the 3rd floor chets could be REALLY annoying solo. And that tree is a pain too, and getting a clean pull for fomors is meh. Let alone last floor controlling the adds you get. I don't really see a job combo that could do it, maybe something like SCH/RDM.

Whenever we try this, the elemental kills carby and then stops to cast on the puller while still in range of carby, causing a full link. Is there any way to avoid this? If I silence the elemental while it is fighting carby, will that automatically cause a full link?

    Re: Low number Limbus

I've done it several times on WHM/SMN (or RDM/SMN whatever you're bringing), just put up Garuda, Aerial Armor, assault, run downstairs and into the northwest corner (off the top of my head I wanna say the earth elementals spot. I rarely get that far, but I head toward it til someone tells me they're done whooping Garuda and only one elements coming after me.

Never gone wrong for me using Garuda with AA.

Ah right of course, just make sure you're out of range when avatar dies so the elemental doesn't stop to cast on you while still in linking range.

    Silly me, thanks.

    Re: Low number Limbus

lol last night my group did central temenos 3F and carby pulling was really odd.
At one point I Assaulted a mob w/ carby, there were two, the mobs came straight after me and totally ignored carby. And no, they didn't sight/sound aggro me
Also, pulling the bosses, i took the PLD first and of course after carby died it HAD to buff itself, thus linking all of them.

I carby pull that floor on RDM/SMN and time silence to go off after carby's first melee hit before it starts casting.. works great if you can time it properly.

Reposting my 2006 Guide on Temenos N solo because someone in the newbie section asked for it.

Ok so first why do this?

    A) Like every NIN in my LS got Appolyon material ready for NIN. I am 3/5 on AF+1 and they would cut off my head if I lotted on it.

    B) Every pickup run I did on Temenos NIN material was THE most wanted. Always 2-3 people wanting it.

Temenos N first Floor - Time limit 30 Minutes

    2x Goblin Slaughterman WAR
    4x Moblin Dustman RDM

The RDMs are walking paths I marked in BLUE. They have NM status but only aggro to sight. You need to dodge them completely by waiting and walking the YELLOW path when they look away.

    http://img450.imageshack.us/img450/7567/temenos6jt.jpg

To pop the 3 Chests you need to kill the 2 Slaughterman.

I advise NIN/WHM or NIN/PLD with Eyedrops. This is no walk in the park like soloing Appolyon SE. The Goblins have a high doubleattack rate, good ACC, high HP and Mighty Strike 2hr.

    Special Moves:
    -Goblin Rush
    -Smoke Screen (Blind)
    -Crispy Shower (Firedamage ~350damage)
    -Frypan
-Paralyse Shower (Paralyse - weak - procs around 20% only)

    Never seen:
    -Any sort of Bombtoss
-Crispy Shower or Smoke Screen backfire onto the Goblin

To kill I used EVA and AGI setup minus Byakko Haidate and Brutal Earring.

I killed the first Goblin in around 10 minutes with the use of 1 Yagudo Drink. Enfeebling with Slow Blind and also Paralyse. Was not that hard to tank but bad timed Goblin Rushes, Frypans and Doubleattacks can really ruin your day.

Then I moved over to the second Goblin and killed him in around 15 minutes. He definetly has a higher Level than the first one. My SLOW got resisted 3 times in a row once. BLIND was occasionally resisted, too. Random Goblin Rushes and Crispy Shower cost me 3 Yagudo drinks.

After killing the 3 Chests popped. Of course I took the loot chest and got 5 Coins + MNK material this time. The chance of NIN material should be around 25% since all chests seem to have 4 possible drops in them. The coinage isnt too bad compared to the 5-10 coins I can get from SE.

It definetly is some good fun and challenge over doing SE for the last 6 months

3 Days later my Second Run followed:

Today I went again. Mamushitos work but not very well so back to Sen/Fudo.

I went NIN/RDM for 4 Seconds NI down - and Bio 2 for some DOT when I had spare MP. Brought Eyedrops to compensate Smokescreen.

.... but to my surprise one of them busted out a Paralyse Shower. Luckily it seemed a pretty week paralyse and only proc like 2-3 times. Would make me want to sub WHM tho to be safe.

I worked thru the 2 Gobs and one decided to be nice and drop a coin.

Pop the final chest and.... woooo NIN material! (+5 Coins)

6 Coins total and the oh so rare NIN material in 2 runs

    2008 Update:

    - NIN/DNC makes this a joke
    - NIN and bringing along any mage makes it a joke

Is that the reason why you put AA on Garuda? to keep the avatar live a bit longer so that you can run away and not making the target stop and cast any magic?

    Hello,
Currently my LS is trying to do Ultima. However we've been running into some trouble with North Tower Temenos. I would like to know how people survive the Tornberry Floor with the SMN Tornberry. Wether I like it or not someone in my LS will always aggro a tornberry. How do people excatly survive the Astralflow, can my members just survive with shell IV up? and no there isn't a ramp up there... I know its a noobish question however I kinda forgot how to do this floor like badly >_<. Last time I did this we wasted time because astralflow kept killing us. Than the next time I did it I sleepga the whole floor went for main PH Treasure poper. But in this case I can't do the samething again because a someone will always aggro, 2 I hate doing sleepga thing. I want to fight this mobs and survive. Anyone have any suggestions?

Another basic protection against Astral Flow is to set SS-ga
either by SCH's accession, BLU's Diamondhide or Titan's Earthen Ward. If you've survived Demon Floor, then this floor shouldn't be a much problem.

The better idea is to carefully skip those 2 Tonberry THF+SMN pair and go the one down the ramp
