Expert NIN solo - Temenos N

I'm 3/5 on NIN AF+1 too. Whenever I wanted the Temenos piece I'd do N, whenever I wanted the Apollyon piece (which I've discarded three of) I'd do NE. My Temenos piece always seemed to come from the Tonberry floor.

This is prob the most logical scenario. when i would duo nw i would always see war smn drk from ram and rarely something different so i believe that is how the af2 drops seem to work.

On the other hand, I've never ever seen RNG drop in SE (DRK and BRD drop from two different chests).

Charcoal Cotton dropped for us once, and only once, from the chest on the second floor of SE. I've yet to see DRK and BRD, but we usually only make as far as the second floor.

Hmmm seems strange I usually see THF and RDM materials from SE.

It's the same for us from the 1st Floor chest of SE. I have only ever seen RDM and THF drop there. Sometimes they drop together, sometimes only one, and on our last run we got 2x RDM item. We've been doing 2 runs per week, always SE, for maybe 3 months now and have yet to see a different item drop from the chest.

The 2nd Floor is a little different, we've seen RNG, SMN (both only once), BST (every time) and PLD (about every other run).

See, that's odd. I've NEVER seen RDM or RNG drop from Apollyon SE (and that was the sole Limbus run we did for awhile, until we saw "Hey, we can do OTHER runs too and succeed"). The one time I did see NIN AF drop was on the second floor.

Not calling any of your claims invalid, but seems to support the fact that they can pretty much drop anything, as the NIN AF in Apollyon SE was a one time thing for us.

.. But if anything, we've definitely seen the most of RDM and BST.

Looking at FFXI Wiki all chests seem to have 4 main drops. Dropping something else seems possible but is more like a freak accident.

If you look at Temenos North reports there have been 2x NIN material reported in first Chest. I also seen one with my own eyes from there in a pickup run I did. So I am keeping my hopes up.

Today I went again. Mamushitos work but not very well so back to Sen/Fudo.


I went NIN/RDM for 4 Seconds NI down - and Bio 2 for some DOT when I had spare MP. Brought Eyedrops to compensate Smokescreen.

.... but to my surprise one of them busted out a Paralyse Shower (updated Frontpage). Luckily it seemed a pretty week paralyse and only proc like 2-3 times. Would make me want to sub WHM tho to be safe.


I worked thru the 2 Gobs and one decided to be nice and drop a coin.

Pop the final chest and.... woooo NIN material! (+5 Coins)

Hmmm... wonder if a RDM/NIN could kill fast enough to pop the first Chest.

If it takes 25 min as a NIN I'd think a RDM/NIN would have trouble 30. I doubt they'd be a problem to sleep nuke though as RDM/BLM.

eh just got done trying this as RDM/BLM :s

obviously, very difficult :D my RDM nuking gear isnt the best-- but Thunder3 was almost a consitent 507 damage (till it rolled over to Earthday) Blizzard3 was around 485, so I'm guessing they have some innate MDB or I just suck, which is entirely possible. Each Thunder seemed to only do about 4-5% of the monster's life >_>;

I managed to kill the first Slaughterman, and get the second one down to roughly 75%.

I offed the first goblin with about 7 minutes to go, lol :\ was really messy and I ate an ill-timed Frypan but nonetheless, I'll try again next time my timer is up

I either fucked up my dash into the 1st slaughterman or something was wrong. I fleed as the right goblin was going south pass the slaughterman room i thought i was cleared but as i ran pass he nuked me. I didn't test to see whether the RDMs were true sight only, however, I can say for certian the Slaughterman was true sight/sound. I died behind him near the wall and when i raised up he whacked me. I'll have to wait another 3 days before testing the RDMs and see if they aggro if i follow them from behind. If they do, something was changed.

Can anyone say with absolute certainty that RDMs are true sight only and not true sound? Because the WARs are true both. Also, should I wait for the left RDM to go south and run in, or wait for the right RDM to head south? Thnx, any help is appreciated.

I had no trouble getting past the rdm moblins. I went past in 2 movements, hide next to the wall of the target room and when they switch again run for the slaughterman.

What killed me was the combination of paralysis shower and goblin rush on the second moblin. Maybe i got unlucky but I didn't see him going down anytime quick.

Nin/Whm

Same gear as op except turban/ohat for af +1 head and triumph ring for breeze ring.

Also vertical cleave is fairly harsh for a solo ninja
