I really can't help but wonder... If me and a friend were the cause of this nerf lol, we found out about marid pts before anyone on our server did(caitsith) and it got leaked out to alot of LS. Those LSs would have a full alliance, with lvls ranging 20-75, and only three ppl were not afk, the rdm/pld, a kraken clubber and a brd or whm. Ppl did this 24/7, they would switch out tanks ever so often. Once me and my friend went out and, as u pry know theres a five chigoe limit per zone off marids, we got all five off a marid, and held them for like 30 min till the other group found out what we were doing lol. They called a GM on us for holding, but of course GMs never do anything, they told the GM what they were doing and how it worked too ><. This was about two weeks ago, I'm not sure this could be the single cause of a nerf, but It's possible for the GM to have seen what was going on and report to the people above him.

Ive heard of similar, go afk with a level 20, come back after 24hrs and your mid 50s or higher
then its time to skillupga!

i wish i knew bout this, i'd lvl my DRK and WAR from 0 and 16, to 37, and have fully levelled SJ's.

Stuff like this wouldn't happen if people wouldn't abuse it, but nooooo. You have to be truthful, while there's nothing wrong with people in the mob's range getting EXP, people using it as a power level area for level 24 characters is not what SE wants.

Be glad that this isn't EQ and the already spoken off removal of earned exp from said mobs won't happen. SOE would do that and stick everyone with a 48 hour "Weakend" status to boot.

Im certain i've gotten more then 5 chigoes off a marid, so unless there was another nerf after I passed chigoe level with my blu... I dont know what you're talking about dude.

I didnt see this SPECIFICALLY mentioned anywhere else, so here it goes. If this was mentioned already I apologize. For all you people who like to skim threads and not read every post, Read below:

I dont think this was because of Power Leveling off Chigoes the way you are thinking. From what I hear(yes, hear, i've never done this myself and cant speak for its legitmacy), there was an mistake in the way chigoes gave exp. A rdm could tank a Marid/Chigoe with spikes up. When a Chigoe popped, it was left alone. If this Chigoe died to ONLY Rdm spike damage, it gave full exp to everybody in the party/ally as if it were only killed by one person, regardless of level or how many people were in the party. Yes, an alliance full of any-level jobs would get full exp. Level 1, Level 20, Level 50. You can see how this is broken, right? I wish I would've known about it sooner, because I for one would have certainly taken advantage of it to get the low levels overwith in a hurry for any prospective job I might want to level in the future.

My guess: SE turned off Chigoe exp until they found out where they went wrong, fix it, then chigoes are back to giving their normal exp.... just not to level 1s/alliances.

Dont shoot me if this information is inaccurate, im just spreading what i've heard from friends.

I think he's referring to how you can't have more than 5 chigoes spawned off Marids up simulataneously in a given zone, so they'd spawn 5 off one Marid and hold them so the other group's Marids couldn't spawn any. But that spikes-kill exp information is interesting.
