I think she wasn't as hot because she wasn't wearing as much makeup as she was in the last one, since this one she had to look more "piratey" and "manly woman-y" All the times where she was all dressed up she looked good though. She's weird like that though, some movies she's in she's soooooo pretty, while others she just doesn't look as good, but is still playing the same type of character (makeup, clothes). Dunno.

Also, I hope in the third Barbossa isn't a faggot and being all "I'M THE CAPTAIN YOU LISTEN TO ME YOU LITTLE BITCHES CAUSE I'M THE BOSS!" like. I mean, a little of that is okay, but that gets so old so fast.

    And to

Techincally(I know he's not..prob lol) Jack's dead and their going to bring him back with barbossa it looks like?
I'd agree with Daahan. I went to see it because a) I loved the first one so much, and b) Johnny Depp.

If they cut him out of 90% of the movie, that would be 100% gay.

There are a few things to note for the sequal and in general.

-----------SPOILERS (as if there weren't any already)-----------

    1) Barbossa has a few things surrounding him.
    - How is he still alive, or is he dead? (please note... undead monkey; how is the monkey still 'undead' if the curse was broken?)
    - The waters they need to travel, did he come there from death, or did he travel there in his 10 years as the Pearl's Captain?

    2) Jack
    - 'Assumed' dead. Think about it, the Kraken spewed out his hat which was eaten near the start of the movie. Slow digestion? Makes me think of some kind of Pinnocheo Monstero (the whale) episiode.
    - Can't kill Jack and not have him have show up alot in the 3rd. That's like watching the FFVII movie and not seeing Cloud because he's 'sick'.

I'd say the 'ends of the world' would be more of the origins of everything strange. The homepoint of the monsters (ie: Kraken). If you think about it, when the world was flat everyone thought that monsters of the sea lived there. Or it could be the laypoint for everything (undead which is how Barbossa came back, Kraken's home, etc).

All I know is, it'll be interesting how things pan out. I'm willing to sit another 2+hrs again. First movie was good, second was amazing. Just remember, 'man's best friend' (wonders if that was a hint at the end, would be hilarious if they implemented that in the 3rd).

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

I'ma guess that the third movie will start like Jedi where they've already at the spot where jack is, and take maybe 30 minutes of the film rescuing him. Then spend the rest of the time trying to get davy's heart back.

Anyone ever read the bounty hunter star wars novel?

One of the chapters focuses on Boba Fett, remember when Boba fell into the pitt? Well he didnt die. It took him years and years, he cut his way out of the monster, but he lost a arm in the process.

How does this relate? Jack dove into the Kraken, with a sword, hes gonna cut his way out just like Boba did.

PS. The movie was sold out, so I bought a superman ticket and walked into the pirates movie, plenty of seat untaken, bastards.

The movie was ok, theres a lot of things that wernt covered, the movie could of lasted for a longer time, the 3rd (last?) movie better clear up a lot of things.

I thought the movie was great, as a reference, my 5 year old son(he dressed up as a pirate), who is so fucking inpatient and hyper (ADD FTW!), sat through the whole thing, and did not complain about it, it shocked me that he did not complain about how long it was, he was cheering, laughing, and trying to cover his eyes (where applicable) the whole time, which just made the movie that much better for me that he enjoyed it...we had to watch it again Sunday since he wanted to see it again, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time, he and I can't wait till the next one comes out.

Oh yeah, the movie sold out Thursday (Midnight show), Friday all shows were sold out, Saturday and Sunday only about 2 of the showings did not sell out, it was a huge hit.

Mentioned in my earlier post: People can survive gunshots. If you want to get even more technical, the spherical bullets of those time were extremely unreliable when it came to killing people.

Yes that's what most likely will be the case, but we'll have to see.

as far as where "the end of the earth and beyond is," I don't think it will be where the origin of everything strange is.

http://imdb.com/title/tt0449088/fullcredits check this link out and try to figure out for yourself where the end of the earth might be in the next movie.

    A couple more things:

    - Davey Jones is still alive. The Commodore has his heart, but it's still thumping.

    - I didn't hear them mention "Davey Jones' Locker" once the entire movie... so maybe they go there!

    - The next movie

    Edit: Some slight spoilers.

I went to see it last week and I really loved it. After that absolutely awful Silent Hill movie I've learnt never to get my hopes up about a movie but I was impressed with this. I would agree that it wasn't quite as good as the first. For one, it wasn't as funny and a lot of the jokes that were in it were plays on the jokes in the first film (read: Orlando Bloom being slapped on the face... mind you... maybe that was funny cos Orlando Bloom deserves to be slapped >.>; ). I don't know what's going on with Keira Knightley's character, seems like such a shift from the first one, and I'm not so sure I like the budding "relationship" between her and Jack, idk, just seemed to rub me the wrong way.

I loved the ending -so much- it was brilliant. One of the only times in the movies I've actually been shocked by something. Was a very good twist and I can't wait to see how it plays out in the 3rd one. In fact, I can't wait for the 3rd one period, I'm cautiously optimistic that it will be very good. Also, hurray for evil British guys. Tally ho, yon scallywag!

I had a dream last night that Jack Mijin Gakure'd his way out of the Kraken... and I was all like "He's a Pirate, not a NIN, WTF." It's possibly time to stop playing FFXI.

Watch after the credits of the first movie to see where the monkey becomes undead.

I used to work in the centre of London and we got celebrities coming in all the time. Keira came in twice, once at the start of her career when she was hardly known and the second time was about a year + later after she was pretty famous. The first time she looked really amazing, the second time she looked really tired and appeared to have pretty bad acne, probably from all the makeup. That stuff's really not good for the skin. -.-

    That's hilarious.

I can see people surviving gunshots in this day and age, but not back then. It just doesn't make sense, and to be honest just having him say "LEWL I SURVIVED A GUNSHOT NIG" would be totally lame.

And yeah, the monkey stole a piece of gold at the end of the last movie, so he's undead still.
