I sure do have an idea of whats viable, as the first time I did that was the first time I got what an eletist would consider decent EXP.

The thing is, in this game a party member that is a hinderance in a party can be measured by whether or not someone can do better. Since someone else could have done that role better, easier and safer than you, yes, you were a hinderance.
