Re-obtaining a Tavnazian Ring - {Help me out!}

For the few things you can get back, like the AF armor, there is a specific NPC that allows you to forget and re-quest them.
Without a special NPC, I think you're pretty much screwed.

Who and where is this NPC? I threw my Great Katana AF1 a long time ago, stop leveling at like 42, went back to level it, tried to re-obtain the AF1, but I couldnt get the quest again...

Try to call GM again about the same issue maybe. If one GM does have access to some super GM database the others should too. At least you could get a confirmation that the other GM was bullshitting.

Maybe GM's read this board and think the Ebon panel joke is hilarious. Perhaps they have taken some bets on if you'll go hit the Ebon Panels to test this out.

I think a few more GM calls might prove useful. If say... 1/4 (including Tydecat) say you can get the ring back, then he was probably BSing you.

Delete, and get through CoP again is probably the solution he was thinking. Or maybe he will use you as an example to his boss of "Hey look. I got this guy (and possibly many others) looking all over for how to get this ring. That will keep them busy and paying customers. Give me a promotion."

The GM is full of crap.

Basically any time they don't know the answer to a problem, they pull the "you can find it on a fansite but we can't tell you anything else, ohohoho" which really means "we can't help you, so we'll get your hopes up and send you on a wild goose chase instead, making us look like we are doing our job"

Referring a customer to a FAN SITE for support/service is about as dumb as calling up your cable provider and being instructed to look in your trash can for the answer to your problems.

They've pulled this same thing many times in the past, it's just another one of their canned responses which gets them out of doing any work and actually supporting their game.

They probably dont keep a log for that sort of thing because your pc (or ps2) has hardware limitation.

Because I'm not the one who lost the ring, my friend is. And I made that GM call from friend's account

Something still tells me this GM wasn't full of shit. The boxed comment was just so out of place, and just coincidentally referred to two things that are part of the CoP missions (light of dem/mea/holla/altaieu and climbing e.g. the race towers) I'll hit all the obvious NPCs first, then maybe see if someone can help me get up the race towers. Palace in Jeuno seems like a good place to check too.

Watch the cut scene again and cross your fingers
Snowmint Point Dilapidated Gate in Misareaux Coast
Prishe's room in Tavnazian Safehold
Orlando's Antiques in Mhara (yeah, that one is a huuuuuuge stretch of the imagination)

Wouldn't the phrase "You have seen where the light comes from now climb the rope" or w/e actually be referring to telling you you're on the right way? I don't think it's a riddle. It sounds to me he was saying you were on the right path. So review what you told him you were doing and go from there...

Call another GM, and ask them if its possible to get Tavnazia Ring again if you dropped it. Then ask if its possible to get Garuda's Dagger again if you dropped that. If they say there's a way but they can't tell you how for both, then you know they're full of shit.

fyi- you need to complete all the AF quests to be able to erase the memories of it, i think including hands quest too

I also dropped mine GM gave me the same type of response... "Things have been put in place to recover rare/ex items that have been dropped" But I have a feeling he was talking about the 3 COP rings and not the tav ring..
