He's never made a book > movie conversion that was good
The Stand was an incredible book and a halfway decent made for TV movie. I wonder if there will ever be a Dark Tower movie/TV series.
wooooooooooooooooooooot
edit:I've wondered this for quite a while, I'd really like to see it, but I'd really like to see them not fuck it up.I wonder if there will ever be a Dark Tower movie/TV series.
The Shining was pretty damn good.Originally Posted by Tymon

I have though about this a lot. I think the only cable networks that would be able to pull it off would be HBO, Showtime, or Starz, any non premium cable channel forget about it, Way to much well everything.Quote:

I would like to see HBO pick it up maybe get the same people that did Carnivale to produce it. I haven't looked at Carnivale that much, cause I just don't have the time, (due to some game that I play no doubt) but it looks really good to me. Every time that I see it in the store I fight with my self over to pick it up or not.
Well, the lineup of actors they are using for this mini-series is actually really good, I think William Hurt and Claire Forlani are in tonight's episodes.
A lot of Stephen King fans regard N+D as some of his best work, so let's hope they don't fuck it up.
Hello? Shawshank Redemption anyone? That is one of the best filmes EVER made imo. He's never made a book > movie conversion that was good
Shawshank did pretty bad at the box office. But it is one of the best movies/stories around.Originally Posted by Groovebox
He has interesting ideas, I think maybe alittle too complicated to put on screen. The movie with the 3 friends and having some kind of alien mind reader and the whole 'inside the brain, but its a library, and trying to hide info' thing was really cool, but the movie itself sucked.
The prospect of a Movie/TV series for the Dark Tower makes me fear it will be incredibly crappy. I hope that's isn't the case, but I'd still watch it anyway.Originally Posted by Amarok
Well there's no doubt at all it coudln't even come close to the books but I think if King had a major role in making it that it could be decent. If they did it I wouldn't want anyone famous to be in it because it would totally ruin the perception of how the characters look/act to me.
Marvel are doing a comic series for Dark Tower. Gonna be immense.Originally Posted by Kytele

I actually like the movies better than his books for the most part >.>;
Only becuase he does soooo much character development to the point that I tend to give up after the first 200 pages of no action.
Dark tower books though I love <3 Would be awesome if they made them into movies. Hmmm Clint Eastwood as Roland? D:
Yes I heard about this. I had pictures of some concept panels but I can't remember where I saw them... =(Originally Posted by ½pint
It's gonna be good though.
Clint Eastwood's character from "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" was King's inspiration for Roland supposedly. Clint Eastwood still rocks, but he's getting too old. I'm not sure who I would like to see as Roland if they were to make a film.

dude.. sweet.. comic.. i will buy them all...
but i still want a movie..
Lol, theres a fair share of good stephen king movies...Green Mile was damn good as well >.>
I really didnt dig this shit (Nightmares and Dreamscapes) AT ALL >.>
Well yeah... The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile were great. The Shining is a good movie but a bad adapatation from the book. Still nice to watch if you accept it will not match the book. I can't think of any other really good adaptation, sadly.![]()
