Your weapon skill rises 0.1 points
    Your weapon skill reaches 200.

it seems to have high evasion.

    The acc function is a monotonically increasing function. f(x) >= f(x-1) for all values of skill. skill-based acc = min(200, skill) + max(0, 0.92 * (skill-200))

It's like taxes.. If you get a raise, you'll never be making less money, even if you go to the next tax bracket. @200, the 0 points over 200 give .9X accuracy. so 201 skill = 200.9X accuracy, etc.

So if it's really 0.9acc/skill after 200, then there is about 9 missing accuracy just from the OPs tests. Unless the sushi's aren't really 15/16%acc of course...

Anyways I'd like to see the tests that prove the 0.9 thing and if anyone has credible proof of a "base accuracy", because 9 base accuracy seems like way too much for level 1. I've never actually seen these tests, it's always "I knew this guy who knew this guy who reads Japanese and saw that 1skill=0.9acc", never liked those arguments .

Where are you coming up with missing accuracy?

Do a search for Nny's post about his suppa not giving 5 acc.
We can get a good lower and upper bound how much acc skill gives based on that and the faith torque test done here.

Base attack is 8, so its not so far fetched that base accuracy is 8. And Apple Pie's test show's the acc after 200 is 0.92/skill which would account for the 9th accuracy with a little left over (rounded down).

I ran some tests last night but forget to save the results somewhere I could access from work, so I'll post them later. Everything on Apple's wiki seemed to be confirmed except for one thing...

As WAR68/NIN34 checking a VT Om'aern, I found that 297 acc (according to the accepted formulas) with a single handed Axe and sword was checking as Neutral Evasion, while a dagger with 296 acc was checking low evasion. Can anyone think of why that would happen? I was using Garuda's dagger... maybe there's some hidden acc+ affect >.>

Take off all of your gear, equip a weapon that you have 0 combat skill with, subtract .5*(your STR), and it will leave you with ~8 Attack. Make sure not to sub or main WAR or DRK so you don't have Attack Bonus.

Safe to assume that if you have ~8 base attack, then you most likely have ~8 base accuracy as well. Good enough proof?

Take all of the OPs accuracy into account, then multiply by 0.15 and you get around 53 accuracy from the sushi - without taking into account that after 200 1skill=0.92accuracy.

However when you take the 0.92 into account you end up with missing accuracy. It's not hard to figure out really, and there's no denying that it is indeed missing unless sushi gives more accuracy then 15%.

As for the dagger switch - no idea - but I've had things like that happen in the past trying to test accuracy. I'm almost certain there's more going on then what the current theories suggest.

Sushi acts on focus as well. I posted the derived numbers that "work" on page 2.

Except your results show sushi giving 52 accuracy instead of 53. He'd need around 353 accuracy for 15% sushi to give 53 accuracy. So are you saying his conclusion was wrong or that sushi is giving more then 15% accuracy?

No, not good enough. Take a amemet mantle and put it on with more then 200 attack, does it give 10 or 9 attack? Accuracy obviously does not work the same as attack.

Sorry, but I don't understand what that example would prove? Could you explain? (no sarcasm)

Keep in mind I'm not trying to say that Acc/Att 'work' the same, I'm just going on what makes the most sense. If you're given a base 8 attack, then you're most likely given a base 8 Accuracy as well. Yes it's an assumption, but I think it's a reasonable enough statement to believe. I don't think it'd make sense to start off with 0 attack and/or 0 accuracy either with how the game mechanics work.

All I'm saying is that it's not really good enough proof. It's a good idea and may very well be true, but someone should test it or something.

Take total accuracy, skill + abilities + gear + dex/2 and multiply by the % increased that sushi supposively gives. For example sole sushi is said to give +15% accuracy.

With a base skill of +283 (rounded up), +20 from focus, +39 from dex (rounded up) you end up with a total accuracy of 342. Agreed so far?

342*0.15 = 51.3 accuracy, NOT enough to change the evasion check from the original tests.

    I see.

My initial thoughts on this: It's actually quite likely that sushi is not exactly 15% -- it's probably valued in 256ths like most other percentage values in the game. 15% could really be said to be anywhere from 38/256 (14.85%) to 40/256 (15.625%).

    342 * 40/256 = 53.4375

That's just a random guess, though.

Yeah, understandable.. But I'm still unsure as to what the Amemet mantle thing would prove?

Oh my mistake, what I meant was that adding 10 skill always gives 10 attack, not 9 (at least I'm pretty sure, haven't messed around with that stuff for ages). So instead of amemet wear some skill+ equipment or check merits and see if it gives 0.9att/skill or not, I'm almost positive that it doesn't. Why would they gimp accuracy and not attack? Well it is SE. So yeah like I said it's very possible, but it should also be provable with a little time investment if you really want to know.

Do you know how somepage and other ffxi sources came up with 15% for sole sushi? That might be the problem.

Also +8 base accuracy and 39/256 would work as well. I think 39/256 would be a better estimate overall, unless the 15% somepage claims is just a broad estimate.
