Did Warthog proceed to cast Flare on you?
Did Warthog proceed to cast Flare on you?
I was under the impression that if you had a pet, you were immune to charm...
The colbiri reflect thing isn't 100%. Might be hard to notice in the "noise" of a party but if you cast a spell and it's going to cast it back it makes sort of a funny noise.
Sleep one, then cast a few debuffs on it and listen after every spell. When it wakes you'll see the pattern and it'll cast select spells in the group.
Well, I stand corrected then, Jailer of Fortitude + Colibri... I'm curious though, when you're charmed, the Colibri goes on about its life with a bard pet, but when Viralai wears off, does the Colibri re-aggro?Originally Posted by Tonko

oh man, best MPK ever.
BRD + THF. BRD logout after charming, which turns pet into agressive mode to other party member (thief), thief gets charmed, noob pt pulls a colibri.
Massacre ensues. Noob pt cant hit lvl75 thf, lvl75 thf goes on a triple attack spree.
How long would that THF stay charmed?
I dunno but I really wanna try this when I go home.
Hopefully long enough to kill peeps :D
Just equip the BRD in "DD stuff" like Brutal Earring, Osode or AF2 Legs, this should be enough to rape a lv50 party. XD
<grin> Warthog D2ed me. He would never Nuke me. (I know where he lives.)
Colibiri don't aggro, so when I uncharmed, it was just sitting there. Any kind of charm wipes a hate list clean, except for Virelai, which when it wears, leaves the Bard that cast it as the only one on the list.
It's the only utility of the spell that I've found.
Perhaps the mob came uncharmed and either the BST failed the next attempt, or someone just did something to it. In a busy fight, that could easily be mistaken for the pet being charmed by the mob.
If a BST has a charmed pet, fighting something with Charm (like say, Xolotl) their pet can be charmed, and turn red, instead of blue, and can be attacked.

Thanks for backing me up Epigram, I knew I saw what I saw.
From what I understand, BRD Charm last for 60 seconds or so.
Also, you won't be raping any lvl 50 parties, those go to Lesser Colibri which don't reflect. ;P You'd be after people in the 60s.
1 min Virelai lasts.
And still, 60s cant hit a THF 75!
Yay for a dead Ninja ;p
I just went and screwed around with Colibris and Virelai. It's so worth the xp loss.

On the first Colibri charm, the Rdm (Ds) had a Blm invis and hide until I get charmed. Then he fire IV'd me ;_;
colibris apparently can store spells cast on themOriginally Posted by Tonko
my little brother was exp'ing on them on his bst, and one casted stun on him as bst/nin
assuming that his leeches werent stunning them (lol) and he certainly had no stun axes, the colibri had stored the spell, maybe from a previous encounter from a blm who died and HP'ed before the spell was casted back
but then again, maybe thats not what happened, and colibri are just fucking crazy lol
I thought virelai base duration was 30 seconds, which is why it always wears off before the 60 second recast timer is ready.
