Yes, it's through one of the tunnels on the south side of the western island. You have to go back through halvung, theres a few scorpions and a mirror that pop there, and it dumps you into bhaf. thickets. There's 2 zones at the top level of where he was that take you to mamook (just some little ledge that you jump off ot) and the other takes you to the back end (presumably) of the candescence BC. For what it's worth, I don't think that area is large enough for hydra. I think it's likely she'll pop up in the arena, or maybe the new zone.Originally Posted by Tyrath
Nah the other entrance isnt the back of astral BC. Its another undersea ruins zone, but theres no guard thereOriginally Posted by Coren
Sup Algol. The details of the confrontation are explicit in Apollodorus (2.5.2): realising that he could not defeat the Hydra in this way, Heracles called on his nephew Iolaus for help. His nephew then came upon the idea (possibly inspired by Athena) of using a burning firebrand to scorch the neck stumps after decapitation, and handed him the blazing brand. Heracles cut off each head and Iolaus burned the open stump leaving the hydra dead; its one immortal head Heracles placed under a great rock on the sacred way between Lerna and Elaius (Kerenyi1959 p 144), and dipped his arrows in the Hydra's poisonous blood, and so his second task was complete.
The first time I went into Talacca Cove, I guessed that it is going to be a BC zone. The zone is relatively small and has no map, there is a targetable "Rock Slab" that looks like the portal to a BC, and there is a drop down that looks like it comes from the exit of a BC.Originally Posted by Iskra

I'm pretty sure that drop-down is from the candescense part of Arrapago Reef, past the loop where the BC is. I've never been to Talacca Cove, though, that's just from looking at FFXI-Atlas.Originally Posted by Septimus
There is a secondary exit that goes into the Reef, but the lack of a map is a strong suggestion that it is a BC zone.Originally Posted by Sui

My god the repeats on this topic are worse then the 5+ parade gorget threads. And this is only 13 pages X.x
Why do people put such horrible music in FFXI(or other videogame) videos? I wanted to see FFXI, not your bad taste in music.
In mythology, Balmung [also translated as 'gram' in other texts] is the name of the sword that slew Fafnir. It would be fitting for Balmung to have some sort of damage bonus against Fafnir.Originally Posted by IBTL
'sup Balmung? not really... Just another sword.
Although it would fit the legend, I highly doubt that Ls's are going to be to be calling to get Algol DRKs in with the THF when it hits 5%.
As far as spawn areas go I highly doubt it can pop in place of cerb. Someone would have seen him by now, and theres really no connection except that they both have three heads.

He fits in decently but still an unlikely spawn area.
So hes probably in an unreleased area since it hasnt been seen yet. Unreleased areas being undersea ruins, the Ashu Talif, the colisseum area, or the unaccessible Hazhalm Testing grounds.

It looks adorable riding the boat but the Ashu Talif is obviouslly too small to fight him in.

Hazholm Testing grounds can fit him in with ease, its almost too big.

This area is an enormous spiral of 10 huge rooms, this would be the best bet imo. Its too big for just one mob though maybe its some kind of HNM gauntlet... who knows. The colisseum I cant comment on I havent seen it, and the undersea ruins are equally huge so thats a possibility also but doesnt seem fitting.
I'd like to see more pictures of unreleased zones.
Hazhalm Testing Grounds = Coleseum? Maybe when you register for it, in white gate it teleports you there via Ballista?
It kinda sounds like a pit to me.
BRP, theres a what did taj do topic around with some un-released zones. I know it has talif, and alzadaal. Dunno about anything else.
Odin broke Balmung and it was reforged as Hrotti if I remember correctly.
Algol is actually one of Cerebus' teeth forged into a sword by the great Aztec god Wamoura and given to the hero, Razfahd to slay the Hydra which had been ravaging the land.
trufax so algol is the key lololz! (*'-')
Disclaimer: If you believed any of above, you're a retard.
Maybe, the thing about it is theres 10 consecutive rooms that connect via one long tunnel you can walk through.Originally Posted by Vobent
But, like, oh my god. Razfahd is the name of the vizier, and like goodgollygosh, wamouras run rampant around halvung! I sense a plot!Originally Posted by Rocl

Didn't know that's what it was called. I think me and you both are the ones who are right ;p. I don't think Colosseum will be for some big HNM I am pretty sure it's just monster vs monster or something. And I doubt it'd be anything kewl like Hydra that we couldn't potentially fight, that'd just make players angry. Also, what is up with these Testing Grounds people posted? Is that the Colosseum or is it some other area?
