They should put him on Tandjana Islet.

I think one of the most spectacular HNMs fights should be in that huge circle in the Throne Room at the top of the Castle Zvahl. That is the coolest zone in the game 8)

After looking at the model viewer animations, Hydra has pretty much the same attacks that Cerberus does.

Cerberus can attack with all three heads, while Hydra has two animations for the center head and none for the outside ones. They both have a tail attack to either side and they both have an attack for both front feet.

Both have that tail move where they raise it up and slam it into the ground. I haven't really seen that in action on Cerberus because I'm usually either up her ass or tanking, but I'm assuming that's the animation for Scorching Lash. Taru perspective can't really see much tail work while lining up for Gekko.

Finally they have their usual casting/TP wind up animations. Both look similar, but Cerberus isn't a caster and I kinda doubt, just by looking at the animations, that Hydra is either. The finishing animation for Cerb is Breath/Spit, and I kinda think Hydra will be similar. There just aren't enough animations without making everything look the same to actually be a caster and have a selection of normal TP attacks.

edit: Hydra also has the whole dying and regrowing heads thing going for it, so it's obviously going to be a different kind of fight.

...because Hydra gear drops in Dynamis-Tav. And that is where the cool Hydras hang out. I stand my ground! Bring it on.

I wish the way you tank it was at it's neck level on some platform. Tank party could hold it up there, while melees and other parties could be at ground level. More than one tank party being able to target each head would open up the alliance limit a bit. On the platform have the different tank groups with the dd groups, and other crap at ground level/pit floor where they are able to sa ws, and such. I'm sure this will be a normal cerberus position fight though.

Eh now that I think about it, would there be a point in hitting it's body since you're trying to chop off it's heads.

Maybe they could add a new dimension to the fight where dropping into his "pit" caused some mega flail move.

I like the inference that flail itself isn't enough...we need a MEGA flail.

Well Cerberus has a flail type move and its pussy, so Mega Flail sounds good

Well, look at it's attack animation. Does it attack downard like he's attacking something at his feet? or does it attack forward like 15 meters in the air. If it has an attack animation that attacks 15m high, then you probably fight it from 15m up. ^^

Well if its true to Legend that would not suffice since on the Hydra once you chop off one head, two grow in its place.

In greek mythology Hydra was the guardian of the underworld so this may be a HNM for the new Lamia areas or possibly part of the New End game area (Sea, Sky).

I'm surprised no one noticed this yet.... BUT if you look at Hydra in the Model Viewer, and go down the list of it's actions, it shows some interesting things:

1: One of it's movements is one of the heads is completely chopped off.

    http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...raHeadChop.jpg

2: One is with one of it's head dieing and not being chopped off. (?)

    http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...HydraDeath.gif

3: One where it is lying dead with all 3 heads (huh?).

    http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20.../HydraDead.jpg

4: One is with one head GROWING BACK from being chopped off. (!!)

    http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20.../HydraLife.gif

If you don't believe me, go look for yourself.
