My favorite of the Planets is Venus, followed closely (very closely) by Mars and then Jupiter.Originally Posted by Dezzimal

It sounds so retarded I can't help but laugh. I seriously love this song.
As much as this can easily be given a "Banished to Gamefaqs" card, I really dont mind anything that encourages open-mindness when it comes to music. Anybody's interest in music can change at the drop of a hat, and I really think people should keep their ears and hearts open when listening to something new. Many people have really shown me a whole nother world of music recently, and I'm indebted to them forever for that.
All I can really do is appreciate the music they've recommended me and have it impact me in a positive way.
-Muse- "City of Delusion"
Wow, I've probably not enjoyed and been as impressed by a single band as much as Muse. I've never really listened to their style of music till recently, but Russta recommended them to me a little while ago, and I first heard them back during one of the BG videos. ("New Born" on the Aspid video.) Went from Origin of Symmetry, to Absolution (amazing) and then now onto Black Holes and Revelations. Not to say City of Delusions is my favourite song, but its the one thats impacted me most recently. I'd recommend at least getting all 3 of those albums and just sit down and just listen to them, really amazing stuff. They're coming from England to the states, and I'll definately be seeing them this August, they're amazing live.
-Keane- "Somwhere only we know"
Kinda really obscure band, that I heard while watching a show, and it really grew on me. Can't say much about the rest of the bands stuff, (I do like one other song they play) but this one really just hit me well. Not one of my alltime favourites, but definately something different that you've never heard of.
-Opeth- "Ghost of Perdition"
Again, one of those bands that really hit me well during a good part of my life. Also recommended by Russta (lol you can see why I feel indebted), this song is just amazing, with so many highs and lows to it. (Perfect example is the beginning of "When.") I love a band that can mix the two, and somehow find the perfect median. Even though Opeth has always been a little hard for my tastes, it all still fits together so perfectly. In fact, just about anything by Opeth you should listen to, and listen to them well. They grow on you like no other.
-Porcupine Tree- "Arriving somewhere but not here"
Wow...This song is just entrancing. There was a point where I could listen to it for hours and not get sick of it. This also came at a pretty monumental part of my life, where I felt I was finding myself, so I can also attribute my likeness to that. (or the other way around?) It definately has stuck with me, in addition to alot of their other stuff. (Trains, Blackest Eyes)
-Cirque Du Soleil- Alegria/Quidam, etc
Wow really dont know where to start here. If you've never experienced Cirque before, you should really start soon. All of their music is original, made specifically for their shows. (6 stationary shows within the US, and 6 traveling worldwide) All involve amazing feats of human physical strength and talent, and really you can't see an act like it anywhere else. I have had the privilage of seeing them live, and currently work with them on a short term basis, and I must say it's an inspiring event. If you're in the Las Vegas or Orlando area, check out one of their house shows, or keep an eye on the traveling tour. You won't be dissapointed. Their music definately has to be listened to along with the act, but can still be enjoyed by itself.

Yeah having a hard time finding the newer Muse CDs here in the states. If you have been listening to that though you may wanna pick up the the new Thrice CD as well, VHEISSU. The first song right off the bat is fucking awesome, "The Image of the Invisible". Its almost more punk rock/hardcore than Muse but its enjoyable.Originally Posted by Lockecole
Lol, I actually dont think Black Holes and Revelations is out yet, not till the 20th I believe. I'll check out Thrice though, just the fact that City brought them to mind means I'll probably like them. :wink:Originally Posted by Heian

Will listen to those songs tonight, my speakers are down, and I can't find my damn headphones =\

The Postal Service - The District Sleeps Alone Tonight
I've been a fan of deathcab for quite sometime, and a few months ago, I listened to this album. It's one of the three CDs that I've had in my car, for the longest time. It's Ben Gibbard from DCFC & Dntel, it's basically choppy techno, but it sounds damn good
Yeah the new one is coming out soon but having a hard time finding the last one they just released. Hard to find good music down here in AL. Looking forward to the new CD though. You'll defeintly like the new Thrice CD that just came out like last month/two months ago.Originally Posted by Lockecole
Hey Lockecole just picked up Black Holes and Revelations. Its pretty good they sound a little different on the first couple songs but the rest is pretty damn good so far. Have not even finished listening to it yet.
Carla Vallet - Streets of Tomorrow (Audi Q7 Song)

This Commercial gets played on almost every channel atleast 15 times every hour on the hour, and that song is catchy ^-^
Motion City Soundtrack - Everything Is Alright
Didn't like the song at first, but then it got stuck in my head...
Starry Eyed Surprize
-Paul Oakenfold
Munich
-Editors
and finally..
Has anyone ever heard of M-Flo? I think they are amazing. They are a Japanese DJ duo and they're pretty sweet.
It's like J-pop, R&B, Jazz and I've even heard a song that sound a bit like Ska. Check out the CD 'Astromantic' I have it and I pretty much like all the songs.
so basically..
Anything M-Flo
