For the Eye TE once they have begun casting the eyes will magic aggro & spawn the other eyes, something like 7 or 8 total? So it ends up spreading the -Ga III between all of these when it lands unless you are thinking of another TE. The one I am referring to is in the middle of the map due east of the central NMs. Are you thinking of the one north of that which spawns demons?
I've never had eyes magic aggro. When pulling the 3 Demon NMs at each platform we always insta-kill one of the eyes before it even aggros with 4-5 BLMs Thunder IVing.

With 3 eye targets the spread damage reduction from Thundaga III will just bring it down to the level of a Thunder IV.

We usually have 1-2 summoners use astral flow along with a few black mages to take them all out. The summoners should get flow back before the end anyways, so it shouldn't really matter. If mages are far enough back they probably wont even get hit with sleepga as the avatar will have hate for a little bit.

I'm no Blm so maybe I'm just confused. Whenever we have done the middle eye TE I always see our Blm's begin casting, followed by a ton of eyes spawning briefly before -Ga 3 hits.

We don't single target kill the demon eyes as we usually have enough to simply kite the NMs while we kill the eyes then focus on each NM one at a time.

The eyes in Xarcabard don't magic aggro. The reason it typically takes 10 BLMs for you is because the first -ga III that hits the two eyes will spawn the other 6, 3 on either side, and not him them. Depending on the timing, down to an nth of a second, another 2-3 of the first ones to hit might also miss the spawned eyes. The remaining ones will hit all 8 and likely finish off the middle two, leaving you with 2-6 (depending on damage, resists, etc) eyes with just a few HP left. My LS used to kill them all with about 7 BLM, as I would quickly run in and spawn them about 1 second before the nukes all hit, making all 7 of the BLM's nukes hit all 8 eyes.

In the case of having eyes leftover afterward, the BLMs were supposed to hightail it away from there, leaving the provokers and melee to finish off the little bits. Granted, most BLMs were brave and just tried another -ga III to kill them all.

    Edit:

Well, you did say it's an open Dynamis LS. Someone probably started before everyone else, to trigger the spawn.

    Glacier smallrun farming:

We try to kill hydras, even with a small group, because we always seem to get something nice from them.

With three BLMs, you can timed nuke the first TE in the goblin area immediately up the ramp and to the west, the western TE down the cliff in the Quad area and the one in the orc area on the way to Angra. This saves a lot of time.

Kill what is in line, or blocking, a TE, and take the usual path to Angra, skipping the goblin tier. After you hit the TE in the Quad area by the ramp down to the Orc area, send three BLM down to timed nuke the northern orc area TE while the rest of the group heads back up and starts clearing along the left wall of the gob area to that TE. Get that, and you should have like an hour left to farm hydra even with a small group if you were fast.

Small group hydra farming is not bad. Camp down the ramp, the first pull on the ramp pops two I think so go eye -> hydra -> hydra while people kite hydras with voke and bind. Most of the hydra pulls after that are single eye + hydra pulls as long as your puller angles them correctly, except for some of the ones along the narrow path on the way to the attestation trigger.

It's what works for us. We really only ever have 18 - 25 people to farm glacier or Xarcabard, and we've walked out with 4 AF2 runs in both zones multiple times.

Feel free to ignore most of my previous posts regarding Blm #'s to one shot the eye pull.

8 seemed like plenty, I had not been having someone aggro the mobs previously to spawn the others so the delay was in fact due to them not spawning until others had died, then being hit by subsequent magic.

Anyways, 8 ES Thundaga 3 easily destroyed them all. Not sure how many fewer could be done to 1 shot them as I don't know how the damage spread works for -Ga.

    More Xarcabard stuff, wee.

We have it down pat pretty much with 18, we sac pull those 2 eyes to get the time extension no problem.

Had around 50min after we cleared the Demon NMs to farm, but it seems like farming here with 18 is pretty unreasonable. To the north of the last platform we did the triple eye pull. It was nasty with a few deaths, but manageable. Aside from that and like 2 other single-eye pulls, it doesnt seem like there's much in the way of farmable non-NMs here sadly. Anyone have a decent farming route for 18ish?

Also, we eventually want to make a push towards DL and mess with him a bit, but of course the wall of 6 eyes is the major obstacle. I've heard it's possible to pull one of them without links, but it seems highly unlikely to me, after playing around with it. I'm assuming sac pulls are the way to go here, but it will probably cause a decent amount of death since you'll still need to be cleaning up a decent portion of the demons on the north side. Anyone have any suggestions?

For farming... there are 2 eyes behind the MNK/WHM/BST tower that aren't too hard to deal with. a SMN, bst, drk, brd pop from this. One should pop to the far left near an eye, but not aggro. Can then kill that eye and pops also, continue east on the hill between the 2nd TK and the RDM/WAR/BRD tower and kill the 2 eyes there. Easy enough farming. The pulls near the animated shield are probably your next best bet, but you get about 7 demons and 2 eyes at a time, with some mnks mixed in there. If you guys are on top of sleeps and can kill the eyes fast, you should be ok.

As for the line of eyes.. if you deathpull them, grab the lower 2 eyes, and the demons at the bottom of the hill, you should be able to slip by and head on to DL (and hope that one of those eyes were holding the TK). Good luck~

If you have a talented puller an excellent set of smaller pulls are those which line the bowl right as you enter.

I fail miserably at the image insert code on these forums or I would post a picture.

But basically the eyes surrounding the 1st TE pull, large pull which spawns 3 Bst, Pld, Drk, Drg.

Each of these pulls if you don't link them, possible but a bit tricky at times, is anywhere from 2-5 demons + 1-2 eyes.

Also the pulls along the bonespine leading towards the Animated Horn are only 2-4 demons per pull depending on links.

I believe the order here is 2 Thf > 2 Blm > 2 Rdm > 2 War > 2 Mnk > 2 Whm or something along those lines. They're very reasonable & easy as long as you stop before getting to the pull which contains 3 Smn/Bst/Drg which is on the corner of that hill.

Those are likely the best candidates for a smaller group if you are careful with your pulls. Some of these pulls are also east of the Animated Dagger to try & give a general vicinity for them if my previous comments didn't make any sense.

    Hope that helps.

Interesting. I don't think the 1st TE pull is reasonable though, since we sacrifice 2 BLMs to it at the start of the run while everyone else gathers to get the extension quickly and with little hassle.

Oh I didn't mean to pull the first TE to fight it, I was just trying to give a general layout of the area I was describing. If you imagine the 1st TE being at the bottom of a basin, most of the pulls on the lip of that basin, i.e. up higher on the slope, are relatively low in number and probably farmable with a small group.

The 1st TE is a pretty brutal pull, I typically only do it out of revenge for those we sacrifice to it at the beginning and the fact that I typically have at least 40 people to fight it with, if not 50+.

Small update which may help you out Mister.

When we farmed last night we were going after Animated Dagger. We approached it from the center camp in the middle of the NMs. Coming from this way we were able to pull the 4 eyes near it which each spawn Rng & Blm, total pull is 4 Blm & 4 Rng, but you can seperate it into 2 pulls each with 2 of each.

Anyways, if you carefully avoid the dagger you can then head west & downhill past the Rng & Blm mobs you just killed.

From this side you are able to do most of the basin pulls without links if you stay against the wall. Might help you out.

Not sure how many pullers you have in your group of 18, but this is our demon wall strategy and it works every time however might only apply to groups slightly larger than 18.

Place 6 vokers/pullers to the South on the top of the hill, near where the first Eye is located. Have a THF start at the Northern most eye (bottom of the hill). The THF agros the lowest eye and flees back towards the NM platforms. The Eye/Demon train will then make its way through your 6 vokers/pullers. Each voker/pullers targets an eye, grabs it, then runs north towards dynamis lord and down the hill near where the first dragon is. Meanwhile you have the rest your group just run through the empty space where the demon wall once was, and down the hill to meet the pullers with the eyes. Have one Ranger stand at the demon wall and wait for the TE pop while your BLMs are nuking the eyes. If you did it right the Demons shouldn't link back to the group. Just need to have a THF that doesnt mind dying a few times to get back through the wall.

For the wall of eyes, I do believe you have to kill all of the eyes to pop the time extension. Use poison pots on this pull, as one eye always seems to do sleepga.

I'm pretty sure you don't, I've heard its only certain eyes that need to be downed

I think only 4 of the 6 eyes need to be killed to pop it. Not sure which 4, but I know I've seen the TE pop before all eyes are dead. It's probably like 1, 3, 4, 6.

As far as I know, you only have to kill both in the center of the wall.

To get the extension, you can always have a thief train everything and the rest of the alliance get 2 eyes, but it's not that hard to break the wall in 3 easy pull.

Just have 1 person pull one side of the wall, than 4-5sec later, someone else pull bottom
