If you've got 5 or 6 BLMs you can do timed nukes to snipe them as well. If your nukes all land close enough together and the eye dies, it doesn't even get a chance to aggro, thus you won't get any links. Haven't tried this myself, but I know you can be in casting range of the eyes and out of range of the demons so it should work in theory. Then you could just waste another sac puller, or even try sniping the time extender too.

This also works for the tower of eyes. Snipe the rightmost eye, then the one directly to the left of it and the time extender will pop, and snipe that. You can do this from behind the tower. Do the same thing when popping NMs too.

How many hp those eyes have anyway? I dont remember doing a dyn-xarc with more than 4 blm in 2 years, not sure we could do it like this.

4 BLM isn't quite enough to one-shot it. Also, they have pretty high resist rates, even with max ele merits and a good chunk of +ele tacked on you're likely to have at least one get resisted.

In my experience they're not as resistant as their beaucedine counterparts, and definitely have a lot less HP. They don't seem to have really high resist rates, I'd say on a scale of Wild Rabbit to Absolute Virtue they rank about a fafnir. Out of 6 BLMs someone will get resisted each time most likely, if you get unlucky you get a few dead BLMs or in the case of the RDM/BRD/WAR tower you get NMs running around the wrong way and linking a ton of crap.

Do you even need to kill the wall of eyes?

On our 18 man failed DL runs... we usually have an hour and a half or more at that point.

Someone just vokes the right eye and he runs foward and dies on the ledge, we run by, tractor and raise the first guy and its on to killing dragons.. takes like 5 min. Even if things go horribly wrong it doesn't take much longer to wait for one person to get unweakened as opposed to 18.

You could also take the time (5 minutes if you pull eyes, maybe 25 mins to kill eyes and demons) to make the pull and kill the extender for a nice 30 min bonus.

To return to the discussion about Angra and Beaucadine, flagging the zone with incredibly low numbers is actually very reasonable. 2 LS members needed flag, so we just assembled a quick team of 12 to try to go get it, and it actually worked out very well. Angra remained a pushover, even with only 11 people attacking it (1 trained the Pukis back to start, of course). Probably took about 4-5 minutes to down him, and Chainspell Death took its toll on about 3/4 of the people involved. However reraising and finishing him off wasn't difficult at all. Could probably be done with even less, if you had the correct setup to get down there.

If you're looking to just sneak your way through the zone and get the flag, Beaucadine is probably easier than even most of the cities. Easily snipable time extensions...(The first goblin one, the one below the Yag SMN boss, the Orc Lake one, the Galkarider one) and the fact that you can sneak around half the mobs make this zone nothing short of a joke.

It is actually possible to avoid Chainspell Death by the way.

Tanking Angra as Pld one of my traditional strats was to stay at the edge of his casting range while DD's did their work. This would, at the very least, ensure they were not hit with graviga before he warped. However, it is possible, albeit a bit hard, to actually use the same approach for Chainspell. I managed to avoid an entire round of Death from him by being at max casting range on him & basically running my ass back when I saw his 2 hour go off. I got lucky on one warp he did, I think. But I did manage to survive his chainspell without getting hit once & nobody else was targetted. May have been a very lucky freak occurence, but it is possible.

The LS I run farms Xar all the time with <= 18 members... sometimes more show up, but we can usually kill every NM using sac pulls and farm a decent amount of demons for a good 3 hours

I was saddened that our last Glacier run en masse, i.e. DynamisX, with 40+ people got 2 pieces of AF2 after killing 4/5 Hydra NM's, every single Goblin in the zone, every single Quadav in the zone, every single Yagudo in the zone & all the Orcs at their Dynamis Tombstone.

Then the other night while we were at Valkurm our smaller currency farming LS got like 6 pieces of AF2 with < 20 people.

    Life isn't fair.

If I had one Valor Surcoat for every Abyss Helm that got free lotted... well I'd have a lot of Valor Surcoats.

When we go Beaucedine Farming, we usually get at least 2 AFs from the Hydras everytime we go there.

But some AFs really seem to drop more often than others.
We could have equipped 10 DRGs with Full AF2 at least. But we only got like 3 NIN AF2 Bodys so far. At least Xarcabard Farming+DL worked out good everytime. We got 9 BLM Hats, 5 RDM Hats, 3 WHM Hands, 2 NIN Hands, 3 PLD Bodys, 3 DRK Helms, 3 DRG Helms, 4 WAR Bodys, 2 SMN Horns etc.
And 7 Shadow Rings + 8 Shadow Mantles so far. Currently completing our 2nd Relic.

BTW: We down DL with 30-35 everytime~
For Farming only we are fine with 20~
