gil sites only buy a certain amount of gil at a time to avoid being overstocked. they're literally making so much gil that they can't sell that they have excess to upgrade gear.

Common sense kind of dictates gilsellers upgrading their equipment so they become more efficient farmers too.
They'll just firesale the gear later at the AH to get some more gils to sell if their guildbanks get raped by SE.

If by "RMT characters" you mean gilsellers, I don't really understand why they would. Selling all the currency as opposed to trading all of it in to upgrade a Relic Weapon is far more profitable.

They'll never upgrade a relic instead of selling the currency, a relic from start to finish not counting the 3k currency kickback from the last stage would net them over 830million gil based on our average single piece currency price

Gonna lawls if they ever get to the point of killing animated weapons though and charge for fragments, theres someone on my server upgrading excalibur that might need their help

Thank God Bismarck is not like this...Currently, only a handful of gilsellers are making a push towards sea (a pack of BLMs was spotted @ Ouryu BC), and even our Ulli isn't 24/7 camped.

What surprises me, is that most of these gilsellers have upgraded their gear? This point was brought up in another "gilsellers do this" thread, but I don't remember any responses as to why a gilseller would use a SH+1 (for instance) instead of selling it for 9m.

Because they can use the SH+1 in the meantime, to help them farm more gil, and still sell when they're done with it. In the end, they'll be ahead on gil compared to just simply selling the SH+1 and farming gimped.

the real problem is that the difference between farming in a NQ and farming in a HQ is about .01% efficiency tops.

I wouldn't be so sure. You can only sell so much gil. There's idiots out there that if a few HK farming ops offered to sell a few characters with fully upgraded relics would shell out for them. But yeah...there's a idea. IGE selling pre-farmed currency. Want your relic weapon? Just pay $500 dollars and the currency is yours!

It would be more like $24,000 dollars based on what IGE has to charge for their gils now to buy an equivalent ammount of relic currency
