I just remembered something I saw a few weeks ago...

If you look at FFXI's graph, you will notice that FFXI's population peaked at 650,000 players in July 2005. In January 2006 the population was down 150,000 players. Interestingly enough, that coincided with the RNG nerf. I will not say that the RNG nerf was the only reason they lost that many accounts, but I am quite sure a number of them quit because of it.

I whine because they made the nerf since BLM can dominate everything. But instead of all jobs now getting an equal share, the player base will now just move on to the next job that can dominate most things. SMN

They need to promote job diversity. A nerf does not do that. Giving incentives to have different jobs in an alliance will. Bonus dmg from skillchains, MBs, make NMs weaker when you have 8 different jobs in an alliance. Nerfing one job just makes people not do that one job and just move on to the next most useful one.

And unless people find a way for SMN to level with ease its not going to become the next big thing. Most people only know to play as a gimp WHM. Theres no real manaburn for SMN.

Oh and SMN still wont touch the damage of a BLM. Yes it has a ton more utility but wont touch those crazy tga3s.

If your LS is smart and, you know, sane, people like you who are BLM onry will be perfectly fine. Most people I know who have BLM leveled have at least 1 other job. Let the career BLMs stay in, switch out the ones who arent career BLMs. Get it?

It's annoying that it'll probably make killing many existing HNMs a longer, more drawn out affair though (In particular CoP Wyrms and the Bahamut Round 2).
