So, by the time the servers could see your packet, all they know is the IP address.

Of course, there's all sorts of nonconfidential data about your computer that they're free to send to POL that would help determine if two accounts are on the same computer or different ones. Nobody bans for two accounts on one IP; the only people who say that are customer service reps who don't understand the reason for banning. As any idiot can guess (and several have), too many legitimate people share IPs.

It was windower, and they were also told that SE could detect it by comparing FFXI's res to your CPU's res to see if you are playing in a windowed mode.

How come some people that used windower were banned and some were not then? Plenty of people have posted in this thread saying they use a windowed FF but were not suspended. Did SE just target a random say 3000 people and 2000 that were not on PS2 and using windower at the time got the ban stick?

She also confirmed that the game can tell the server if you're running in a windowed mode or not, and windower use = 72h temp ban (which i got), "real" cheating like pos or flee = permanent ban.

Edit : I've also been using 2 accounts simultaneously a while ago to get a friend in Dynamis for the key item, and i am using windower macros for gear switching, maybe it could be that but she still told me they can detect if you're in windowed mode.

I call bullshit. They are probably telling you they can detect a windowed mode to scare you out of using the "gateway hax" Windower.

Seriously, think about it for a sec. You have warphacking RMTs on your server, and SE tells you what they can detect is a windowed mode. Do the damn math.

Well i've been playing on the same connection with my girlfriend for more than a year and they did nothing, and they can't forbid this so no it isn't.

That windowed mode detection is probably bullshit yeah but they have something that is detectable with windower, unless they just took into account people that may have been delated for using it.

If you have someone, tell a GM he's using windower and he'll get banned. Tell him he uses POS and he'll investigate... lol

i spoke to SE on the phone and was told "I have no details on why but you may resume play on the 25th, tuesday."

so my guess is they're doing this as a warning. why else are some banned and some suspended? the post above makes sense. this whole thing is retarded. obviously more than 30 people warp/fleetool/etc per server. and far more use windower. unless they just didnt note the windower suspensions factoring in for the 2000 'closed' accounts. we'll see.

i think the dart board analogy was spot on.

I just confirmed that my account is banned. The ingame graphic resolution i was playing in was at 1800x1200 using that pebbles program. at full screen on windower 1280x1024

I can only hope they did this cause they are adding windowed mode (most people would stick with windower for the extra features) next update. Would make sense since it's 72 hours before the update but I doubt it. If they did it in hopes to scare people from windowing their game alltogether...

I've read this entire thread and I honestly have no idea what the basis for banning/suspending people is.

- All I can say is I've used windower for over a year, and repeatedly talked about using it in LS, /tell, party, etc.

- I run it so that it covers my entire screen except for my taskbar.

- I've used the extended windower macros for a couple months, and have never used any sort of hack or bot whatsoever, unless you consider a parser to be a hack.

- I don't have any windower plugins except the ones that came with the most recent version.

- I've never run more than one instance of the game at a time.

As of 5 minutes ago, according to the online LS community, I have not been suspended.

Guys if you believe what SE is telling you, your nuts.

Here is what they did for a 1 month period, SE have been collecting the errors sent to SE by trying to zone to fast "ie" Flee tool. If at any time you ever tried to zone to fast by getting to the other end of the zone to fast you got a error message in red letters and didnt let you zone.


If you believe that SE can detect windower, youve fallen into what they want you to beleive. SE determines if you use tools this way also people who talk hacks are looked at also. If none of this applies to you then, you probably hacked at some point during assault. Everything that occurs in assault is logged by SE, they made it that way cause they knew it would be abbused.
