They're putting their energy in the wrong place...
Since some people can't figure it out for themselves, here's some logic.
Windower: Assuming it has no plugins or tools being used with it, does not give players any upper hand against anyone else nor does it give access to any abilities or information otherwise inaccessible. If you think being able to use your PC for work/homework or browsing the internet while you're logged onto FFXI is an upper hand against other players, you need to realize every console player (and every multiple-PC user) has the same capability.
Against policy: yes
Cheat: no
TParty: Gives you access to (yes, client-side) information that the game was programmed to not allow you to see without communication within your party. Regardless of which side of the phone line the information lies, being able to read your party/alliance's TP% value was not how the game was built by SE and does give you an upper-hand against those who are forced to communicate their TP to perform skillchains.
Against policy: yes
Cheat: yes
Distancewhateverplugin: Gives the player a numerical value to his or her distance from an object/person/mob that is otherwise required to be judged by experience, eye, other in-game means. Perhaps this information is client-side as well (I'm not sure), but again, the game was built and programmed to not allow this information to be read. This also allows an upper-hand (albeit small) against those who have to be much more careful in their placement in certain instances even though most of us find such things rather elementary.
Against policy: yes
Cheat: yes
Parser: Takes information displayed by the game itself and calculates it to show averages and totals. This tool does not give the player any information whatsoever that is not given to the player by the game itself. It reads logs and does not do any calculations that a highschool student with some time and a calculator couldn't do themselves. Information on whether your party is getting shitty exp/hr or not is definitely not an upper hand against others if the human brain is capable of the same calculations.
Against policy: yes
Cheat: no
How hard is it to figure this out, honestly.

Argh, ok I based these conclusions on the assumption that in order to be a cheat, a plugin/application needs to give a player an upper-hand against those who do not have the same plugin/application. (which TParty does)Originally Posted by BRP
And the upper hand is that he doesn't have to ask multiple times about TP or another players does have to spam his "I have this many TP macro", but simply say "going" when they are both ready. That is less than what windowed FFXI does in terms of 'cheating'. Poor UI design =/= right in right and wrong.
What are you talking about? WTF do they get an upper-hand against?Originally Posted by miokomioko

Yes but by your reasoning, the human brain could calculate all the information that TParty provides too. Check gear, traits, ask about merits, voila you can figure their TP gain by seeing when they hit/miss/take dmg.
Depends on how you define "cheat"... TP party doesn't do anything a group of people spamming <tp> macros can't accomplish. TP Party just streamlines and simplifies communication..Originally Posted by miokomioko
Consider this: My linkshell uses ventrillo during HNM fights.. is that cheating? Sure.. people could type stuff out to communicate but saying it is clearly easier.
TP can be implied by SE as a cheat. Instead of hitting your macro "<job> @ TP: 109%> You just see when they get 100+, and go.
I'm sorry I'd post more but in between TP% macro spamming and logging all the way out of ffxi to get on BG I waste aproximately 45% of my life walking from my moghouse to the ah to check the price of everything RMT sells there. After that I chocobo 20 minutes to get to sky and then later another 10 minutes to DA to get to the Fafhogg camp to see Omen claim or steal another HNM as roranora uses a Regain feather and doesn't banned.
Didn't I tell you to kill yourself? Why are you still alive?TP can be implied by SE as a cheat. Instead of hitting your macro "<job> @ TP: 109%> You just see when they get 100+, and go.
Are you saying speed hacking is okay because you are too lazy to walk to the AH from your mog house? No I'm saying that the travel system, windowless play, RMT countermeasures, and the correct policing of TOS violators all fail.
Congrats on the 2500 posts tho looks like you are slowly killing yourself so I won't mention anything similar.... troll.

Knowing your PT's TP isn't cheating. It doesn't make you stronger, faster, etc. It makes the game less annoying.Originally Posted by miokomioko

I read you can't log on to Linkshell Community beta site if you are banned, but didn't read people saying this - If you take a look at any linkshell, it'll tell you who from that linkshell is banned (granted that they registered to the site).
Their pearl will be grayed out at the bottom. I thought it was kinda funny =3 Sorry if it was mentioned before tho =x
<Call4> defeats all others
edit:
yeah anyone whose content id is cancelled whether on their own or by the company will be grayed.
