Argh, ok I based these conclusions on the assumption that in order to be a cheat, a plugin/application needs to give a player an upper-hand against those who do not have the same plugin/application. (which TParty does)

So Ventrilo/TS is a cheat? What if I call someone to get online so they can come help out with a camp? What about playing next to someone in the same net cafe and talking to one another?

It's not always black and white about CHEATs, it's about doing things in a more organized and efficient manner. Party communication via /p /t and /l macros only is tiring.

And to whoever asked what TParty gives you an upper-hand in... it is giving you an edge in being able to perform skillchains with your party members without any effort in communicating your TP with your SC partner like every single Xbox/PS2 users have to do. Well SE just perm banned the account of player on Ifrit that started from day one, had 400+ playtime, 8 75's, all sj's 37+ 3/5 kng 4/5 pld osode, kraken yada yada, oh and 500+ dynamis currency and a slew of gil with not even so much as a warning. I've never been in jail and once had a 72 hour suspension 1.5 years ago for a very sketchy MPK that involved many, many people. Go SE go, IMO thx for the fuckin' favor, thx for doing what I probably wouldn't have done on my own.

I used windower to 2 box. Don't think it won't happen to you.

I read you can't log on to Linkshell Community beta site if you are banned, but didn't read people saying this - If you take a look at any linkshell, it'll tell you who from that linkshell is banned (granted that they registered to the site).

Ok so i read the first 4 pages and last 2. From what I understand they just banned people who use fleehack (which is great) with the exception of a few who used dualboxing for some weird reason?
And the rest of the 40+ pages is discussion of what is cheating, like using TS or checking web on another computer or on the same, or tparty/ windower features etc?

If they are really banning all fleehacking accounts I think that's good news for everyone, and that definitely will involve a lot of the sweatshop gilseller operations too. I just hope they can really get all and not just a few for show. If they can fix mrargus or whatever too that will make things a lot more fair for everyone.

Oh shit you got banned. It was nice playing FFXI with you then Hath. Sucks it had to end for you like this. I still remember us partying and me hitting 75 BRD the day after you hit 75 WHM or some shit (my only 75 job and you got 7 more afterwards lol). Good times.

I still haven't tried to logon to check whether I got suspended or whatever myself. If I was to get banned from this game it would suck at first, but it would be a good thing overall for my real life. I hope things go well for you after FFXI.

all 3 accts suspended within minutes of each other. no GM /tell, no jail, just "This account was disconnected" and in POL viewer "Playonline has chosen to suspend this account."

As SE's paying customers, what we think means everything. They can continue their cute little trend of inconsistently and uninformedly banning people who have no large scale effect on the game, and they can watch as their playerbase slowly dwindles due to not banning assholes they should have been banning in the first place. Whether or not you think that TParty users are cheating is irrelevent; their resources could be better used just about anywhere else.

And honestly, I could care less if some warrior in my merit party is playing his job in a "mindless and uninvolved" way as long as we're breaking 10k/hr. That's not what the problem here is.

Here's a truly revolutionary idea:
Actually ban the gilseller twats instead of patchily banning a bunch of random users who may or may not have been using malicious third-party tools in the hopes of putting the fear of Big Brother in the rest of the playerbase. Alternately: Just permaban people who are caught speed/warp hacking on the first offense. This would require GMs to actually respond to calls in a timely manner and pay attention, though. Not enough GMs? Hire more GMs for fuck's sake; I'd pay $20/month if I could actually get someone to respond to any GM call in <2 hours.

Another revolutionary idea:
Scrap this client and actually make one that's a) not a shitty port of a PS2 game years after the PS2 with HDD is obsolete, b) has better security so it's not so damn easy to hack everything. Hopefully they'd c) go ahead and make this dream program window-able, but since they'll never stop treating the symptoms rather than the disease, I guess there's no point in wishing.
