Can anyone confirm / refute the claim that people who got banned show up with a grey pearl under the linkshell community? I can check myself actually, if some people who were banned (perma) post their character name, server name, and linkshell name.
Yes they are, temp banned people aren't greyed.Originally Posted by divisortheory

My old LS leader got jailed at a KB because another LS was placing GM calls that he was warping around. During the jail he complained saying that it was his shitty connection and after the GM did some "research" he let him go agreeing that it was a connection problem and not 3rd party tools.
So either the GM felt like letting him off if he was using pos, or they actually have a way to tell between lag and pos.
GMs can view logs of all your recent movements. I know for a fact that they can look at these logs up to 24 hours and can ban retroactively based on what they see there. It's just whether or not the GM is lazy when you place the call that determines whether or not they look at these logs. It's entirely possible that this massive amount of information could be stored and parsed to find players that have irregular movements at a later date, much like this.
The easiest way to tell of someone is POS hacking around is to pay close attention to what their character does after they move. If they appear to just slide across the ground or abberate to another spot without their character moving, it's a hack. If you see their character doing any sort of animation right before and/or right after they are just lagging. The more you know~

For people saying they didnt ban every gil seller, or every cheater, I'd like to know a society or a game, where Police (or GM) manage to catch every drug dealers, murderers, etc.Originally Posted by divisortheory
I heard a lot of Gil sellers have been banned on Valefor. The "BLM nerf" really f'ed up them hard, because they all stop camping NMs / level BLMs, to level their new job low level job.
Maybe they didnt solve every single problem on every single Server, but what they did was really a nice thing, and our server can count less gil buyer / seller, and cheater.
Personally, I like how they are being more open about them taking actions on people. Must be taking a cue from blizzard that it pisses people off when they think nothing is attempted to be done about cheating.

Bad analogy. Gilsellers are incredibly easy to detect in game, you would have to be a retard not to tell if somebody is a gilseller. It's like a drug dealer walking around on the street shouting "Drugs for sale! Drugs for sale!". IRL somebody would call the police and he would get arrested. In game, people call GM's. Except the GM's don't do shit.Originally Posted by Lylie

How many times did I hear... "Take care around AoE and linking mobs" when getting trained and splatted at NM's before the patch. That's like a RL police response of HEY THAT ASSHOLE SHOT ME "Good day sir, please be careful around people wielding loaded guns, if there's nothing else I can help you with I'll send you back home. If you continue to harass the person that shot you I'm going to have to send you to jail."

I was under the impression SE banned the Gil Seller several times, and stopped the "Xmas Inflation" that everyone was crying about. They made an update to stop MPK, making mobs depop. They deleted hundreds of mules, changed the D.Box system, and is trying to "nerf the BLM onry" they were using to camp Ulli (that everyone was bitching about).
Sure there are be lots of stupid GMs who dont do shit to what happens to you. Sure there are still alot of Gil sellers around. But there is alot of boters, and cheaters as well. They finally perma/temp banned 2000 accounts, and that is a good thing.

I won't disagree that banning people that use 3rd party programs is a good thing across the board, but why can't they get gilsellers that use 3rd party programs? Funny...Siren's have been intact for several years now, with no sign of slowing down. Nice to hear your server is lucky, when you have dead bodies floating around chasing Ulli and it's some of the same names that have been there awhile, you care less about "legit" people cheating.Originally Posted by Lylie

Exactly, 1 gilseller banned is better then 100 real players banned, because in the end, the only thing against ToS a POSer/Fleer is doing is the few times he moves a little faster. A Gilsellers very existence, every second is against ToS, and slowly wittling away and ruining alot of the experiences in this game. (Sup not being able to camp Cassie/KA/Simurgh/Serket for the past 2 years without alliances of warphacking competition) I agree with suspending people who fuck with the system, but in the end why should they even be looking at legit players, until every GS is banned. Stop wasting resources on real players, even if they do hack.Originally Posted by Raineer
