A friend was telling me back when they were about to test ToAU that Rdm was going to get something along the lines of tier II enspells that in addition to causing damage would add status effects (likely the elemental debuffs as mentioned to me). As it seems unlikely they would do this I would like it to be a Job trait verses a JA or Spell to boost the already existing spells effects....of course this is all heresay anyway, but a boost to enspells wouldnt be to bad, but I know I rather have some other killer treats.
Everyone is assuming the resistance will be independant for each element, like casting Thunder would only raise Lightning resistance, but i don't recall to have read anything implying this.Originally Posted by Sudai
It could be like that, it could be only one magic resistance stat (that would even gimp Chi Blast with Elemental spamming or such), that could be one resistance stat for each type of different magic (Elemental, Divine, Blood Pacts...), and unless we test it we cannot assume using Heavenly Strike wouldn't gimp Grand Fall.
I personnally think independant resistance wouldn't change much and thus it wouldn't be like that. They spicified they want this to nerf manaburns especially on fights like Diabolos and with independant elemental resistance you still could kill Diabolos with 2 volleys of nukes if your BLMs each cast a specific spell.
Speculation by me only, though, of course...
On the contrary, everyone I talk to thinks just the opposite.Originally Posted by Kuropiko

Was under impression it was a general resistance and not a single element so using any spell increased its resistance. Also it IS SE, they have to fuck you up where it hurts most, so single element is too easy.Originally Posted by aurik
Some of the /recasts seem to recognize some spells posted previously (not sure if it was mentioned, to tired too scroll back 8 pages lol), but /recast "Utsusemi: San" is doable atm. Keep in mind some of those spells are already in game for Mobs. Utsusemi san is used my ninja mobs in Dynamis I believe.Originally Posted by gemini~cusp

If I'm not mistaken, the only use of Utsusemi: San at the moment is the Promyvion mobs "Seethers" for their TP move Winds of Promyvion, or some name similar to that, which gives them like 15 utsusemi shadows... it also uses an animation which is a bigger, more obnoxious Utsusemi animation... Maybe Puks' "Zephyr Mantle" is the same animation? I don't recall, but definitely not 15 shadows.

Closest utsumei-san animation I seen is from puk, too bad thats not it though
Too bad they don't because the ninjutsu version sounds alot different from what puks use.
Things in limbus don't use this either or CoP dynamis

I was referring to the Utsusemi: San .dat animation being used by Seethers and Puks, and nothing else in the game, since no mob in the game casts the spell, as far as I know.
