Part 2 of this shocking development: Anyone who hasn't seen this crap in their backyard is never going to understand how horrific it is. Trying to educate people with graphic images just makes them emotional for about 10 minutes until they realize they're hungry and head down to McDonalds. That's about as long as the imagery lasts and then it's flushed out of their head along with most everything else.

EDIT: To reply to the post above this, the point I'm trying to make about this post is to, through use of images (which speak louder than words), show the hypocrisy evident in the on-going crisis. I for one am sick of so many people who fail to realize that there is no "good guy" in war. One of the often used justifications of killing Palestinians / Middle Eastern CIVILIAN facilities are because "hey, they train their kids to become terrorists, we're trying to -prevent- that from happening." The picture speaks for itself, if defending one's nation is terrorism (and I know I'm making a very strong claim here with respect to Palestinian retalliation), then so is this...

Kids should never ever have to be exposed to war, outside force (like if their street/town just got bombed). Encouraging kids to do shit like this just makes me confirm my beleif that both sides are losers, and there'll never be peace in the middle east.

Like I said in the other topic, both sides need to grow the fuck up.

I'm not supporting anything here because any aggressive action just further destabilizes the region and the world. What's happening here isn't surprising here in the least though. If you're wondering why either side is actually doing what it's doing, quit staring at the obvious like most people do and educate yourself. The average person here isn't old enough to have witnessed the events that led up to what's happening right now. Most of you didn't even know that Israel has invaded and occupied Lebanon before (and even gave the land back to them).

This isn't even between Israel and Lebanon. It's between israel, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and many others. It's so complicated it's disgusting. It goes back to World War II (it could be argued it goes back to biblical times) and it involves people of about a bajillion different ethnic groups and about that many different interests.

I've never once woken up and had the urge to ever walk out my door and kill someone. It boggles my mind that people can ever let problems get to that point. I hate to simplify it down to Lordwafik's statement, but people need to just grow the fuck up. We have it easier now than ever to live productive lives and see our children grow old. I don't know why we have to piss it all away for archaic methodology in dealing with problems.

I remember an Episode of Star Trek Voyager. A whole race destroied itself over religion. What it came down to was an arguement in the number of days it took for god to make the earth or something. one said 6 one said 7.... and they started shooting each other over it...

Our kids joke about blowing up the Middle East. How many times have there been comments about making it a huge crater? I don't see how that's much different. We all know kids can be cruel, especially in the hands of hateful adults.

Well, it's not the rock itself. It's what it stands for. Hey, have you ever watched the movie "Munich"? It does an interesting potrayal of some of the tensions the people in those areas have been facing. I don't think it's truly possible for the common American to understand exactly what's going on in their heads, but it's really not human nature to do all these horrible things without some sort of motivation. Though I wouldn't support their actions in the slightest, I wouldn't belittle why they are doing them, either. It's all really messed up over there.

What about if you were a young kid in Palestine, and saw daily newscasts of soldiers invading homes, tanks running through the streets, and rockets flying into a building you called a school? If you want to spin words to make one side look innocent, I'm quite sure you'd lose.


Allow me to make myself more clear as per the reason for posting. I'm sick of this double standard. I don't believe either side is right, war is beyond disgusting. The third picture in that link really hurts. I don't need to know if the kid is Lebanese, Israeli, Palestinian, or from whatever country, it's a fucking KID. Wafik's point a few posts ago was correct, no kids should ever have to witness this, but unfortunately, that's not the world we live in.


Now, going back to the double standard. I'm pretty sure a few of you have been in debates regarding the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, the War on Iraq, etc. And I'm pretty sure that in every one of those debates, there was some ignorant jackass who claims to justify the actions of war, or whatever actions America/Israel/Western forces are taking, by saying that "[insert Middle Eastern nation here] train their kids to become terrorists," and there are pictures to go along with it, with a 8 year old holding a rocket launcher. Before I go on with this point, let me make myself clear. I find BOTH acts dispicable, be it the girls writing "From Israel to Lebanon" on the bombs, or the child holding a rocket launcher. What sickens me is that so many times, people buy into "[Residents of a Middle Eastern Country] are savages, look how they live!" The double standard here, is that Israel, and by extension of argument, the West's "children" are no less guilty, writing such disgusting messages on a bomb that will surely destroy the lives of many.

Anyways, the middle east needs to keep doing things like this(i'm not trying to advocate war or anything.) The middle east NEEDS conflict. Few people realize that the middle east has the resources and manpower to RUN the planet. The ONLY problem they have is their division. They're a separated force. People believe their faction of religion is better than a different faction, WHICH IS UNDER THE SAME DAMN RELIGION. They are a separated people that cannot focus together for the sake of their existance.

But, lasitha is right. This arguement is going to go on forever. Soon enough, the next generation of warfare is either going to destroy us all, or destroy every government we have established and begin this process all over. It's just one reallyginormouslyoverscaled cat fight. Drama.

These people fire hundreds of rockets into a neighboring country, knowing that the position they're firing from will be bombed to STOP the firing, but the choose a firing position that will create these kinds of results? And so you side with them? They're literally walling themselves with civilians as a fire deterant.

This is war, it is ugly. Hizbollah asked for it, the Lebanese continue to let it happen even now, and the Israeli's are doing what's right by them. Why would anyone expect anything less? Of all the people with power to stop this, Lebanon is doing the least.
