It dies rediculously fast, and just start the fight with a Trick Attack onto a WAR or something.
Also you dont have the other dagger holding mandau back. Notice a difference in the power of your swings? Buh bye to that.
Nerf is really noticeable at Faf with 4 BLMs, 3 MBing with Burst 2. Damage varies a lot now, not static like it used to be for blm, either that or someone kept curing us out of latent right before MB hit........ First Burst 2 to go off would do around 2.2k dmg. The next Burst 2 on same SC would do 1.8k. I only noticed this in 2 SCs because my damage and another BLMs dmg switched when one of our nukes hit after the other. It's not a huge nerf... but it's a nuisance doing semi random dmg likes melees.
The flowers to get cards for Limbus would be an okay test. They're pretty easily soloable. Or were.Originally Posted by cassiraa

My LS is doing Xarcabard on Sunday so we should find out if the nerf is very noticeable on him.
my linkshell did Kirin last night. I don't know exactly what happened because i wasn't in the main alliance so i didn't see the damage, but i do know something went wrong. We were doing good to start off, getting Kirin down pretty damn quick w/ Chi blasts, Magic, and Rangers. About 3/4s of the way through he spawned Seiryu as normal, but about half way through Seiryu he spawn byakko O-o so we kinda had a few people getting completely MAULED by Byakko before we killed Seiryu and picked it up again. Anyways one of my Ninja Friends were saying that every time they casted a Elemental spell it was half of the damage of the last one. So i don't know how much the Magic was effected but I think it effected enough to throw us off a little.
Personally I think BLM took a step up on this update. The 'nerf' only affects when you intend to kill HNMs with only BLMs. Just like the Wall of Justice and the Wall of Cerberus, there's meant to be some strategy to the game other than mindless nukes. (BLM75 with Novio just so the BLMs don't think I'm ragging on them.) SE really intended for BLMs to be part of parties, so the fact that we've got powerful spells that we can make more powerful means that we nuke on Skillchains and MB for a lot, then rest or heal.
For those who farm Apollyon NW -
I trio Apollyon NW with a RDM and a BLM. I was kind of worried that this update would kind of fuck us over. Last night was our first run and I was kind of worried that we wouldn't be able to make it past the first two floors cuz the ghosts and buffalos have a lot more hp than the bugards and wyverns.
I was glad to find out that while the resistance change was noticeable, it didn't affect us to the point that the mobs were unkillable. I have full Thunder and Blizzard merits and the other BLM has no merits at all for potency. Previously, my nukes would do ~150 or so more damage every time unless there was a resist obviously.
This time, the damage would fluctuate after the second or third volley of nukes. It would lower by ~200 or so randomly, so there were times that the other BLM would be doing more damage than me on an unresisted nuke which would never happen before.
As far as bosses go, we were able to clear Pluto and Zlatorag like before. Cyno was a bit tougher. He started resisting a lot at the 35% mark, but we just switched from Zenith to AF1 gloves and he went down easily. I'm not sure if that is a result of the patch or just getting unlucky with resists.
We didn't get to kill Kaiser, but this is mainly because I died twice and was put into double weakness. We got it to 30% before we ran out of time, so I'm sure if I didn't get put into double weakness or if we didn't get unlucky with the portals (fourth ghost and fourth buffalo), we would have beaten it.
Long story short, Apollyon NW is still manaburnable post-patch.
In Dynamis crapstok just now the only monster that showed any special resistance (and made me fear the nerf) was the blm nm Manameister. After the first wave of Burst2s he began to take 1/4 and 1/2 damage. Most likely just a fluke though, or boosted since he's a mage. We had 5 blms, and manaburned both drk nms, the blm nm, and plenty of regular mobs without any trouble or sign of the update. A slight dip in damage was noticable sometimes but it didn't matter because the monster was dead(for example, my usually weak nukes would slightly outdamage the strong blms who landed nukes moments after mine). After mega a bunch of people went to sleep, we killed the effigy shields with 22 people and no tank, and none of those showed any noticable signs of the update.
Blm is not only intact but probably better than ever.
Just killed DL with um.. 8 BLM, 4 RNG, 2 MNK, 1 DRK. The kill was slower than usual but the fight isn't significantly any more difficult. The change was most easily seen in the first wave of nukes that are all ES'd. Only about the first 4 were normal, next 2 were cut 200ish damage off, next 2 400ish. (With the new changes, my advise would be to space out your ES nukes, even 5 seconds would help) However the spikes of MDB wore quickly, as the next wave of nukes were mostly fine with the natural 25% or 50% resists keeping him from every having as high of an MDB as he did just into the pull (resisting 400 or so of 1200 damage). He stayed around -20% magic damage for the rest of the fight with my last 3 nukes being 883 Blizzard IV, 793 Fire IV, 891 Thunder IV. Stuns were unaffected and figuring in damage he resisted this time that he wouldn't have pre-patch, he's probably not more than 10% more HP tougher/longer. Slug Shots were back over 2100 with Dia3+Light Shot, which was nice to see again. Bring ample stuns a decent amount of powerhouse melee and the fight is pretty much the same. However a purely manaburned DL.. I don't see happening anymore, as there's no real pause of magic damage for him to briefly return towards normal again.Originally Posted by Garret

Good info there, I think I'm doing a DL on Saturday possibly. Gotta wait to see what the lsmes gets updated to. We have relied pretty heavily on BLM damage in the past, but I believe half of our BLMs also have a decent melee 75 job.
Any news on how RMT BLM alliances are doing?
I really have a feeling that the magic resistance has a cap, just no idea what
Anyone that read the update knew thatOriginally Posted by Warlok

My dynamis shell noticed stones in Dynamis-Jeuno were getting more TP from nukes or have innate tp gain now.Originally Posted by Kimiko

I disagree with the last part of that sentence. People were feeling nukes weakening towards the end, an approx 30% dmg decrease than normal, some mobs were taking longer to kill than usual, but we did kinda ok considering alot of people spammed AM2 and blew loads of MP for nothing.Originally Posted by DeadLegend

At the end we nearly cleared all the mobs, got 10 AF2 (SMN SMN SMN BRD BRD PLD NIN DRG WAR MNK), 500 coins including 2x M.silver. The only ones left were a few of the repops in the alley to NIN NM, aswell as the west gate. I have no doubt that without the nerf, we'd have at least cleared the other gate too.
What does this mean? Manaburning cities basically is hardly affected. lol @ the retard elf on asura who was happy about the BLM nerf which really was more like a little mosquito bite. I also got relic dagger's base damage bumped. That's 2 great things for me, and no great things for you ^_^
The place I see the nerf really affecting : Dynamis Xarcabard - all mobs, NQ's and NMs, Dynamis Lord probably out of the question, Animated Weapons will probably be a bit harder now, Dynamis Beaucedine's Angra Mainyu + Dragons (Which we never kill anymore, requirements for my LS are you need Xarca acess, we dont waste time fighting angra anymore), Hydra mobs.
Alot of those monsters aside from Xarca mobs, are mobs we hardly touch anyway. We rarely went to Xarcabard with the intention to kill DL, we farm mobs.
Anyway, how I'd rate this patch (from top to bottom, most job destroying to least)
