Did another run yesterday and grabbed 1 Orichalcum Ore and 9 Gold Beastcoins. I guess it definiately does help out the higher level diggers to a degree. Not bad grabbing 200-500k worth of stuff once a day. If you do it every day you can have a nice auxillary income.

You know what I've been doing recently ?? Yesterday I spent about 2-3 hours fishing up Shall Shells, 11 stacks. I went to sleep after I finished because I had work. I came home from work, watched a movie and started synthing these Shall Shells to get some black pearls. By the time my movie was finished, roughly an hour and a half, I was STILL synthing these Shall Shells. Finished with 18 Black Pearls in 11 stacks of Shall Shells. YEAH GOGO 100+3 BONECRAFT ON A LV 19 SYNTH. You know what I did after ?? I spent another ~30 minutes synthing 2+ stacks of Vivified Corals, then another ~20 minutes synthing 12 Coral Hairpins and then Reraise Hairpins (with one Merman's Pin which is useless sigh).



What am I trying to get at ?? I've invested over six hours so far, a substancial amount of my own gil (animas and coral fragments), all I have to show for it is 11 Reraise Hairpins, about 14 Vivified Corals, and enough materials for like 20 more Coral Hairpins.

The investment comes in leveling digging in the first place; even with a bot it takes people months to achieve high enough digging level to get that fast income. You can powerlevel any craft minus gold these days to 100 in 2 weeks. That's the glaring difference I'd say.

Just for the record, I don't bot chocodigging. There's no reason to, especially since I'm constantly sorting my inventory and throwing out the junk items to make room for better ones.

Not saying you did, just pointing out that even with a bot (which obviously doesn't require the user to be at the computer, and thus digs for longer than a normal player would) chocobo digging takes a very long time to level up. People who do it legitly take even longer (I've heard up to and over 6 months)

I agree, in a way. I can do that in crafting, but it takes A LOT more time, capital, and risk. I make more than 15 million per month off of Leathercraft, but it takes more time to read markets and it takes a ton of capital to hold 6 or 7 pieces of NQ Dusk at a time as well as trying to sell whatever HQs I have. There's always the 'Synthesis failed. A square of Behemoth Leather was lost' also. I can't sustain 15+ million gil a month off of 30 hours of work. Then again, I could get lucky and make 50 million in one synth.

That's best case scenario. I went out on a run yesterday and got at best 1 gold beastcoin and 3 mythril coins. Aside from all the other junk I threw out, all told I probably netted 10k yesterday. You're not taking into consideration that a particular zone is out of items from other diggers.

And it's more than 5k of items, it's about 11k+ since I always buy 16 stacks. Not that 6k more really makes a difference.

But yeah...10k yesterday. So 200-500k isn't always a reality.

Seriously, you're a fucking idiot. There are different respawn timers for the items depending on their rarity. As was the case yesterday, it's possible for a zone to be full of low level items such as pebbles and insect wings while the high level items haven't respawned yet, so any indication that the zone is all dug up is muddled.

It's possible to dig nothing but crap items for a long time and all of a sudden dig up 5 or 6 high level items in a row, so there's no good way to tell if a zone, even if it has many items, has any of the shit you're looking for.

You really don't know shit about chocobo digging, and you're just making yourself look like a stupid asshole.

It all depends on how many stacks you burn a day, and that is dependent on whether or not there are diggable zones. Some argue that you can still "level up" while not getting any items, but if that is so, I believe it is less than if you are actually digging up items.

Not sure if it's like that, mines still not capped, but it's Psychologically interfering, as there are no skillup messages, and you start thinking you're digging faster and have levelled up, but when you time it it's still the same and you probably didnt skill up at all

It took me even longer than that doing leathercraft. For the middle grind all I had was a level 60-70 WHM to kill 10,000 tigers for skill up hides and gil teeth or the countless f'n Golems in Fei'Yin I killed for crappy shards and keys for a 1/4 chance at a Life Belt. I used that gil to buy Manticore hides cause I couldn't even kill those without a 10 minute struggle. It takes a god damn long time for a dirt poor WHM to kill that crap.

Mindlessly digging (or botting) on a chocobo, while watching Oprah, is so hard though!
