For real, Nynja, GTFO and stop being a troll. You're whining about other people supposedly whining, and then trying to bolster your position with fucking retarded assumptions and stupid inferences on a topic you have proven to know nothing about. The only whiner I see in this thread is you. 'Nuff said.
Obviously people want to take every corner-case scenario and examine it under a microscope to see who's right: the crafters or the diggers. It's gotten to the point where people are saying "ZOMG you can get O.Ore anytime you want! STFU!" WRONG. As someone else pointed out, getting an O.Ore is very rare. It doesn't happen on a daily basis for fuck's sake. Where the hell did you come up with that? An O.Ore might be dropped in the loot table once every couple hours. Considering that everyone and their brother is out in Rolanberry trying to dig one up with their precious 100 items a day, the chances of someone getting it is slim at best.
I have dug ONE up since the change. Hell, even before that, I would dig up maybe one every 2 weeks. So in response to those saying digging gives you massive return on small investment, I say: no. It really doesn't. It was never incredibly profitable, and it's way less profitable at this point. It was steady gil, yes. If you really poured 4+ hours a day into it you could do alright. You wouldn't do any better than someone who was out farming, and you certainly couldn't do better than someone with a high level craft. It was just a different means of getting some medicore gil. Stop making it sound like it was some magical fountain of gil, because it wasn't.
Crafting gives you the opportunity to make gil when you want, and have a targetable item. Digging is completely random, and there's no control over what you dig. You can occasionally walk away with a decent item (O.Ore), or have a bad day where you dig up nothing but bone chips and pebbles.
