With only 4-5 people digging for elemental ores, they used to net about 15+ each per 7 hour run.

And the RMT won't wise up that way (it would take them about 100 toons per zone to dig 24/7). They won't create an army of toons. 2 of them, Popopoy and Amcyore supposedly are moving into fishing.

And yes, I'd rather see SE grow balls and just ban gilsellers altogether, but I guess that asking for the good fix is way too much for SE..

I wish they would move themselves into a blender and die.

Given that the Chocobo Raising update is just under one month away, most choco diggers will have emptied their storage of items dug before the digging change. After diggers have emptied their storage, there'll be a moderate increase in some log and ore prices. Hopefully the chocobo raising will mitigate the digging changes, but highly doubt it.

While doing some test digging post update, it seems the zone repop timers have been modified as well. Whereas repop was at either :00 or :30 reliably, now it's almost on a setback timer where repop doesn't begin until last item of the pool was removed, then one hour in-game timer starts. Of course some of my testing was performed in Atlep, which has had modified timers for long time, and then then new areas, which timers haven't been defined yet.

If S-E doesn't try to correct the issue, and choco raising doesn't save the day, are other diggers thinking of taking up fishing, mining, lollogging?

SE makes 20 times as much money per RMT digger?

I always thought RMT diggers were kind of good for the economy.. they spend gil on greens to a NPC which takes gil out of the economy while at the same time put up ores/staves on the AH which gave more to buy with the gil in the economy, helping to cause deflation.
do you even dig? RMT are horrible, just the past couple of weeks platinum ore went from 70k to 40k, gold beastcoin stacks went from 250k to 190k, everything that could be obtained through digging dropped in price and pissed all the legit diggers on my server off.

The most idiotic part on SE's behalf is that they think "fishing? digging? lawl whats the difference? copy & paste fishing fatigue to the new digging system, it will work great!" Wrong. SE assumes that since not many players dig, they must not dig very long... we all know what happens when we assume right? I don't know about the majority of you diggers on other servers but on Gilgamesh when the regular diggers go to dig, they dig for a long time... SE needs to make the restriction something like 2 hrs before fatigue, with a 4-5hr cool down. That way diggers can get their fill, and then go do whatever (exp, ls, help friends) and not have to worry about waiting until midnight japan time.

If it's not fixed I'm thinking of taking up quitting the game.

On another note, I highly recommend that any diggers who dislike this change to mail in a bug report through PlayOnline, as well as send in a message through PlayOnline Comments & Suggestions. If enough of us speak up about it, SE might do something. If we do nothing, it's 100% certain they'll also do nothing.

    found this on somepage

    http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/8773

maybe test this item out after you get fatigued?

there also seem to be a few new types of greens out, maybe for HQ digging?

The chocoxixir is an interesting item indeed.

Also, from a long time ago, the Playonline site implied that eating a gysahl green affected relationship with chocobo. I wonder...

And RMT are horrible for other diggers because since they alone are the ones suplying the market with items such as orichalcum ores and philosopher's stones, only thing stopping the prices from skyrocketting (to a point) is their greed, and desire to get gil to sell. We'll only see the full efect when their stash is gone (they still have a lot of stuff to sell).

Also quite a few diggers don't sell everything they dig since they use the materials to craft with. Heck, I prefer to skill up slowly than to give the RMT trash my gil.

A few days before the update, there were a ton of plat ores up for sale at a nice and low price of 40k. Personally, I didn't care what they sold at because I keep all the ones I dig and craft them into ingots along with the nuggets I grow. Today, AH is completely sold out of plat ores and the price has doubled.

My daily 20 stacks of greens failed to net me even one platinum ore for the last two days. Now I have to camp the AH for plat ores since I can no longer rely on my ability to dig them myself.

I don't know how the developers thought this was a good idea. I would have much prefered that a fatigued digger has a longer and longer wait in between digs. A RMT digger can't manopolize the refreshed drops if they are waiting 30-60 secs between digs because they have been in the zone for 24 hours.

Or how about this: A fresh digger has a better chance of pulling up an item vs a fatigued digger of equal digging skill. This way, if you have the zone to yourself then you can dig all day to your heart's content. But as soon as a new digger arrives, that digger will be getting the majority of the items and you should call it a day if you are too fatigued to compete. This is sort of the "no harm no foul" concept. I don't care if a RMT digger is cleaning up Altepa while I'm sleeping or at work. But as soon as I log in and hop on a chicken, it better be like "Big daddy's here. Fun time for RMT is over."

Those are actually good ideas. Maybe by not letting a fatigued digger get certain items (you know the ones I'm talking about) if non fatigued diggers are in the zone? That way not only the fatigued digger would be punished but the non fatigued one would have the treasure pool cleared of the junk that no one really cares to dig.

These are outstanding ideas, therefore SE will most certainly not use them.

As someone who finds thinking of ways the game can better is funner than the game itself, I believe those are best possible fixes. I'm going to steal those.

I was actually thinking of that last night as well, but you beat me to the punch. Damn you. I think the fatigue should work as you say...basically your skill gradually climbs back down as you dig more and more. So for example, if you are an A20 digger, if you use 15+ stacks, you go down to A25 stats, then after 15 more you go down to A30 stats, etc, all the way back to level 0. It seems so obvious...I can't believe why they didn't go with something like this. At least it would have extended people's dig times a little bit. The word that kept running in my head last night was communism. It seems SE is trying to get everyone an equal share, regardless of how much work, time, and money someone put into leveling Chocobo Digging, and that's total bullshit.

Anywho, I tried my first digging run since the patch. I zone into W. Altepa and boom, first thing I dig up is a P. Stone. I had to laugh. Didn't get much more after that, so I went to Golden Road and got 2 Gold Beastcoins in S. Champaign and 2 more in Merphataud and that was about it.

Gold Beastcoins are steadily rising in price on my server, up to 190K I believe (from a low of 150K.) There's also steadily been only 1 or 2 stacks at a time, and sometimes none, now that digging has been decimated. Personally I'm trying to get the price to climb back up, now that my digging has been severely limited.

Elemental ores, on the other hand, are just as plentiful as ever. Not sure if that's because a lot of diggers are throwing theirs up and depleting their stores, RMT offloading theirs, or gardeners are harvesting a ton of them. I read that gardening got hit by some retarded nerf too, so it's questionable how many come from it. I suppose e.ore impact will take longer to see.

O.ore and adaman are at an all-time low as far as supply goes. I think there was 1 o.ore, and 3 adaman. I'm holding on to the adaman I've been digging in hopes that prices will climb as supply dips. I've yet to dig up a single O.ore since everyone and their brother targets Rolanberry as the only place they'll dig, in hopes that they'll get an O.ore with the measly 100 items they can obtain.

i personally cant wait to see prices of items mostly supplied through digging to be even higher then they were before RMT came along, hopefully that will compensate for the fluke until SE gives it a fix

As far as skill up goes, low level diggers have no reason to fear. I started my experince on day 2 of the changes, never dug over 50 items a day (takes too long, was boring) and I just reached /wait 11.

Skill ups ARE faster than before (regarding skillups/stack).
