Until then, it's just a matter of who can keep their tanks alive while switching in and out melees. GG SnD, GG.
What? Everyone knows how to remove the heads by now -- or I would hope they do.

Our tanking "strategy" on my LSes 2nd attempt was 1 pld and 2 war/nin, and we figured out the PLD had no place there pretty soon after the fight began. The two samurai we included in the fight (me, Raiko) both subbed ninja and fairly regularly took hate off the two warriors, which I guess wasn't so bad for reducing the pressure on them. I got some parry skill, score.

From 100 to 0 it's just Rampage, Gekko, Kasha spam. I don't think we dealt with nerve gas at all, because -- surprise -- it never had more than one head up at once. It was fun (Gekko peaked at 869 somehow. I don't think I had songs 'cause the BRD died somehow after reaching us... >.>) just to let loose, but I wish there were drops worth obtaining from it. Neat title, I guess?

Overcoming this fight is hardly an achievement in strategic planning, as others in this thread have stated already.

I dont know what you're talking about as far as a PLD having no place there though, our MT was a PLD/NIN the entire time and only lost hate when I specifically wanted him to, IE voking and rampaging so he can recast ichi. Otherwise that mob didn't look at anyone else the entire 25 minutes.

/NIN is a godsend for melees on that mob if for no other reason than absorbing trembling.

To be honest, I don't recall if the PLD we had was subbing NIN for our win. I think we wanted to experiment with /WAR again, but, it didn't work out in that situation. Otherwise, I think PLD would be a fine choice.

PLD/NIN all the way, if anything the only fault w/ PLD/NIN is that sometimes there's just not enough curing going on, due to Trembling always being blinked and by our melees, and the other AOE just not doing enough damage to warrant any good amount of curing.

Anyone have an idea though, that may help PLD/NINs get more hate? Think about it.

We felt it was a good accomplishment being one of the first to take down this thing, it was a crazy fight. You get a couple pats on the back but then the "oh it's such an easy fight its nothing to be impressed about", "it's just a zergfest", "oh hydra sucks"

I posted a second thing to show our improvement over our first fight to try and counter some of the people who put us down before and now apparently I'm bragging. And members from a Linkshell on my server that I respect can't even be happy for us and just have to downplay it.

FA posts things that you were the first to do but you didn't see me putting you down on forums, I'm actually happy for your accomplishments since I do have friends in your shell.
Actually from what I heard, it was the exact opposite. You try to downplay our accomplishments (i.e. B2, Ouyru, Tiamat, Jormungand, Vrtra, etc.) and then when you seek approval from a certain FA member and they don't act enthused you seem to think it's some sort of sin to not congratulate you and sing your praises.

Concerning the Berserker's Torque, is it true that it's 50 hp/tick and 1tp per tick? If so I can only see it being used to wake up from sleep, that is definetely not a good trade off. 100 tp = 5000 HP? No thanks.

You're all right, the drops do suck. But the fight is fun and it's something different, thats why we've fought it twice. Tiamat wasn't up and all HNM are in JP time and Hydra is fun in our opinion, mind your own fuckin business you fat kid (Maguspk) we don't care about FAs opinion about our shell, or anyones opinion for that matter. We're proud of what we do and what we've accomplished. Go be trendy online elsewhere.

It sort of became other people's business when you posted a "look at me!" thread that somehow didnt get locked even though it was painfully redundant.

Given the benefit of the doubt that I'm very well literate one would assume I didn't mean you specifically but rather one of your shell members representing you as a whole.

Don't tell me to mind my own business when this was posted on a public forum, seeking the approval of the people on BG forums. The poster came here seeking attention and I gave it. As for calling me a fat kid, lol. For one, I'm not fat at all. Two, my weight has nothing to do with the matter, and using it makes you sound like an immature child, even though you are probably an adult.

It's cool to be the first to kill an NM on a server. My Ls was also the first to kill Hydra on our Server, also NA. And after maint the next day, another NA Ls was able to kill it before a JP/NA Ls did. At least I think so.

Even though JPs and NAs spent hours fighting and tryin to figure out how the crap you beat this thing we finally figured it out. We went back after Fafnir camp and killed Hydra in nearly 30 minutes.

And for some reason everything is considered a Zergfest now just because you use Melee to fight it? "OMFG ZERG, All you do is Rampage and Gekko!" Just because it's not a Thunder IV, Blizzard IV, Thunder IV, Spinning Dive, Thunder IV, Predator Claw, Blizzard IV fight huh.

But yeah, this NM blows to fight, the drops blow... Leaping Lizzy is a better NM.

You obviously missed the true meaning of a Zerg strategy. It's where you have excessive numbers, in most cases more than like 25, and fight an HNM. Usually it's not a big deal, if you have more unless you put those others to use. If you have 25+ people, all dieing and then being switched out and replaced by the other 25 people there, that is a Zerg Strategy. Just like in SC, zerg units are relatively expendable, just like how FFXI Zerg strategys deem players expendable.

    You guys wanna hear zerg?

There's an LS on Fenrir, well, was, they all split and went into like 5 other shells; but anyhow. They attempted Jorm with about 80 people, and didn't get it below 88%.

They also had several extra shells due to the main pearl being capped out.

lol. You can zerg just alot of things in this game, but there are some exceptions. Most notably the mobs like Wyrms who can Spike Flail. Meh not to mention hate reset and aoe moves are a pain in the butt. Hydra is particularly easy to Zerg because of his lack of any "You move me, I rape you" moves.

Yeah, I'm aware of most zergable mobs in game, I just found this funny is all while we were on the zerg topic.

I *think* they once zerged Simurgh with 25, though. Does that count?

Yes 25 for Simurgh is fucking ridiculous. Should be like 6-10 at most.
