Ah, makes sense. We didn't have any time for fancy tactics. It was just me (BRD), 4WAR, and a RDM. We saw him, I pulled with Elegy, and got an an Aeroga III or IV in return.

WAR voked from a tunnel we were in, and got the same for the rest of the party. He finished them off and came back for me.

A party on an upper ledge claimed him from up there after he owned us, and he killed them too. I'm not sure if he Aeroga'd them from down below, or ran up a ramp to them.

Either way, I want revenge.

I just did a search for "Darting" and nothing came up.

Has anyone else had experience with Darting Mamool Ja in Mamook? Or is he even new at all. :/

No one in my party had seen him before, and he was more than happy to wipe us with some Aeroga IIIs. Couldn't silence his ass either.

He does like to spam Aeroga 3, but the darting part of his name means after a couple secs of fight he will run away from your pt and link the room that he is in (just like the teir 3 mamook assault).

So if you try to go from the gates at the entrance to Arrapago Reef now to the Dvucca Isle staging point, you wind up crossing a lot of random NMs. First are the two Lamia Palace Guards or whatever guarding an Archaic Mirror immediately after you exit the second (keyless) gate. Killed them and their mirror twice, with like an hour between them (what's the point?) and they dropped nothing. No screenshots of them because they didn't seem important. But further in was Lamie No. 8, guarding a second archaic mirror:

She sucks. We were 3x NIN and 1 71WHM/BLM being dual boxed.. she's a RNG type as you can see, and she spams that Arrow Deluge like Lamia 13 does in her assault mission. The first time we tried her, we got her down fairly low and she used EES which, yay!, went through shadows and one-shotted one of the NINs. Which would've been ok, except that it popped Lamia No. 19 with two skeletons and she owned us all. She somehow had hate on all of us this time.

So 19 depopped, we all reraised and rested up and tried again. We got her down to 5% or so, being careful to keep our HP high and zerk off, and she EESed a few times but we stayed alive. Then.... SURPRISE! Belly Dance! Huzzah! Everyone charmed but the WHM, whom we killed, then we became uncharmed and kept fighting her. Got her to 1% and she charmed again, went unclaimed, and regened to 30%. I don't remember details after that but we got her to 1% and she EESed me, tried to mijin on her for the kill but didn't beat her. :/ So. We home point, come back, kill the palace guards and their mirror for the second time, and come back to 8. Decided to fight her again just to see if we could do it, and we got owned. I think she killed one nin with EES and 19 popped again, but this time she didn't aggro and we just kinda stood around while she picked off the rest of us and we gave up. Whee.

Anyways, the details people might be interested in: Typo No. 8, and two sightings of 19 so far at I-10 of the middle map. Didn't kill either, so don't know if they drop anything.. But good luck.

Sorry if I'm wrong, but from all the mobs ive seen, theyve been called " Lamia" but your No.8 is "Lamie"
Just curious if theres a few named "lamie", thats just a typo by SE, or you photoshopped and spelled it wrong.

Lamie are a different tier of Lamia ... as far as I know, there are Merrow, Lamia, Lamie, and Nix ... but I could be wrong.

Either way, I'm fairly sure that the distinction is intentional.

Was messing around last night in a fruitless attempt to meritpo...

When you enter mamook from the mamool ja staging point, take the southeast path that leads off the map to get to him. He is in the second to last big room you can get to and its full of true sight mamool ja.

You just can't melee this guy because he always runs the second someone uses a melee attack on him. Weaponskill onry maybe? I got 300tp on puks in the area, ran up to him, engaged, used asuran fist, he ran and wasted my tp.

As much as being bound and having aeroga III cast on us hurt.. we didn't wipe because he would run away after doing any damage. Around 72% stuff between where he ran back to and our camp was repopping so we just gave up.. we had a 72 whm in the party and every aeroga was kind of a risk for her

The cool part is.. once he starts running he won't stop. He ran back to where he normally is, regen's to 100% and left us alone after that...
