This is the map I've been killing a lot of quirins on:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...bterrane_3.jpg

The little tunnel at H-10 doesn't show up on the games map, has a mosstrooper, archeologist, and 2 flees. There are also archeologists in the tunnels on the east side & northwest area leading to halvung.

I'd be interested in knowing more about your fight with this. As Rocl pointed out a few pages back there is one NM of each race that nobody has provided much information about.

Poking around in the .dats, they all seem similarly situated in the list of mobs in their respective strongholds--following the mirrors and mirror guards, and followed by 4 beastmen whose names I have never encountered (Gulool Ja Ja -> 2x Mamool Ja Chamberlain + 2x Mamool Ja Palatine; Gurfurlur the Menacing -> 2x Hilltroll Elite Guard + 2x Woodtroll Elite Guard; and Medusa -> 4x Lamia Exon). Are these the 'guards' you are referring to in the above quote?

Also, immediately following those 5 mobs (the NM + guards) are what appears to be another NM, a puk in Mamook, a wamoura in Halvung, and an orobon in Arrapago. Did you happen to notice a wamoura at or around the area you fought Gurfurlur? Finally, do you mind sharing where you located him? All the previous speculation pointed towards them spawning behind the '3 keys door', and it would be nice to have confirmation if that is the case.

The Puk/Wamoura/Oroborn NM all seem to be involved in a quest similar to "Finding Faults".
Sample dialogue from Halvung: "The Wamouracampa's defenses seem to weaken!"

Perhaps, but their proximity to the NMs and their 'guards' is conspicuous, and there appears to be no known quest involving them yet. Also, I just checked out the dialog, and right after the 8-10 lines for each of those monsters is dialog by Gulool, Galfurlur, and Medusa (well, at least by Galfurlur, as he refers to himself by name; I'm making assumptions on the other two).

I took a group and wiped this entire map last night. By the end of it the majority of them were so tired of chasing Qiqirn they wouldn't go for a second round.

edit~ Our BLM said "I logged in to have fun and somehow I've ended up in Dynamis" then we had like 4 worms aggro us while we were fighting one and the same BLM was getting hit with ga3 and stone4 and he said "I'm getting killed, this is just like Dynamis".

After seeing just Gurfurlur, the pattern with him is copied to all 3 with the 3-key pattern and 4 guards. You'll find Gurfurlur and likely the other kings just beyond their respective 3-key door. And going off the behavior of Mythril Mouth Monamaq and all other NMs like this, I'm going to assume they all periodically resummon all 4 of their guards. While none of the mobs there seemed terribly difficult or strong, we didn't really have the bodies present to give it a good shot.

As for the wamoura, we saw no signs of one, and the location in the .dats with 3 odd species of mobs is kinda weird... perhaps later into the fight they bust one out.. I have no idea.. or they're used in something else entirely, perhaps the quest mentioned. He's placed in a dead end so it would've been hard to miss anything near him. The 3-key doors are one-way, so be sure your alliance is paying attention when you open them, unlike ours. You can however, tractor through the door if entirely needed, but once in, you're stuck, unless of course you have a tractor on the other side. The only way out was an odd one-way door that put us all right at Cerberus, an annoyingly long walk from where we were.

As for Gurfurlur himself, he's almost as annoying as in Besieged, but not as powerful. He absorbs all magic and can give this ability to all of his guards, with Arcane Stomp, the only one of probably several unique WSs he has that we saw. His guards were 2 PLDs and 2 WARs, with I think the Hilltrolls being the PLDs and the Woodtrolls the WARs. His defense was pretty high (199 Tachi: Gekko), but perhaps like MMM, he's weaker when guards are down. He never budged below 99% so he's either got a fuckton of HP or high regen (maybe during guards being out or all the time) or both. Or maybe me making sure he absorbs magic kept it that high... '-' A well-coordinated alliance would probably be fine unless there's something crazy that happens later. You'd just need more than one tank-like job unlike us. The Guards did not share hate strongly and everything was unsleepable/unstunnable and ungravity-able (like all trolls).

Edit: Gurfurlur had draw-in, but you wouldn't want to really pull him anywhere else in the room anyway. His platform is the most link-free.

Hello, I'm a new poster, but have read a great deal from this topic and many others. On the third map of Mamook past the Mohogony Door at E-8, my party and I found a large empty throne, an untargetable door to the west, and a one way door to the north that led to the Jade Sepulcher near the Mamool Ja Staging point. Gulool Ja Ja was not there, but this might have to do with Sylph having lost the Astral Candescance to the Mamools. The door took 1 of each of the Mamook Silver, Black, and Tan scale keys from various types of Mamools.

That's definately a mirror image of what's in Halvung. Conditions/spawn are still unknown exactly on these things, but that's definately the location. There was also an untargetable door in Gurfurlur's room as well. Maybe they have more planned for all 3 kings? At the front was the 3-key door from which you enter, at the back was Gurfurlur's throne/platform, at the left was the untargetable door, at the right was the exit I mentioned that exits you back out to the staging point zone of the region.

Has anyone been to the 'throne room' in Mamook when the AC was in Al Zahbi? I'm gonna go scout around with a friend now to see if we can locate one to fight later tonight when there are more people on.

What drops the Halvung Bronze Key? We have a Brass and a Shakudo now. And where is the door to trade the keys to? I'm not really good at getting around in Halvung yet.

I don't know the doors but I know the Bronze Key dropped from some of the true sight trolls on the second map entering from Dahak island. I don't remember which mob exactly but some of them dropped Brass, some dropped Bronze, and that Moblin Millionaire (Billionaire maybe) in one of the back rooms dropped the Shakudo key.

It's a lv.74(72 maybe?) Sword that's pretty dang nice for PLD. Definitely not an ISNM60 drop, doubtful it's ISNM75 because it would have been found by now. I have my hunch that it's a troll/mamool king drop or something to that effect.

I found some info on Big Bomb and a japanese friend translated it for me. Seems it pops on the 2nd map in Halvung at I-8.

PH seem to be 2 bombs that are there.

She also got from the translation that it cannot be stunned, not 100% sure if she said gravity works or not (got a tad lost in translation there). She also said something about it doing a TP move that goes through shadows and did 1000~1,300 dmg on a 75 NIN.

So yeah, go have fun! Oh, yes i believe the drop from this the website stated was the +6 attack, +6 acc bomb core type item.

[edit] She also told me from the JP BBs she read it seems Ravin Raven is a Ghost NM in Caederva Mire. Not Bird like i was thinking myself. She doesn't know how reliable that is either though since it was just something she read.

I personally still think it's from one of the birds and will drop the birdman cape. Just makes sense

We just popped and killed Big Bomb a little while ago. It wasn't too bad with four people. Stuns were resisted though, so you're going to eat Firaga III (~700dmg). It used Volcanic Impact once on me for 520ish and Hellstorm for like 150. I was wearing a bunch of Fire+ gear, so maybe they were resisted.

On another note, near Big Bomb, J/K-9 on the second Halvung map there's a lever door. We couldn't open it with 4 people. Is that the way to get to the 'throne room' where Gurfurlur is supposed to be at? Just by looking at the map it seems that K-10 would be a likely area for that.

There's a 6-man switch before the 3-key door. You need a few more hands; it's not 4-man like the others. And Big Bomb's damage varies a lot as he grows; you probably just saw magic and WSs at a different point than we did given those numbers. Just watch for Hellstorm when he's in max size.. that did around 1k to our tank, and erase the Heat Wave Burn quickly. Reports indicate Firaga III is pretty nasty when he's as large as he can be as well, but we've always killed pretty quickly and avoided that.
