Got the foreboding message after using Mijin to finish off Bloody Bones. He dropped 3 Dark crystals so maybe he's a Besieged NM?

I checked out Mystery Tour's NM data and took some people down to find this "Dampsoil" NM in Aydeewa... turns out it was a ??? spot on the ground called Dampsoil... lol

Anyways, it mentions there is a mushroom growing, and recommends giving it some fertilizer... Any thoughts on what item fertilizer could be? My only guess at the moment is a crystal, like gardening...

EDIT:: perusing the AH just now, Derfland Hummus is the only obvious fertilizer, and we can see how SE is trying to get us to use all these old quest items for new reasons. Sounds logical, trying now.

EDITEDIT:: humus was a bust, but it took the first crystal I traded it (it was fire crystal and it was watersday) "The mushroom seems to have grown a bit." traded again "The mushroom does not need any more fertilizer at the moment" or something. waiting until 0:00 to try again... this smells a lot like that annoying worthless Sapling NM in tahrongi.

EDITEDITEDIT:: waiting 1 game day didn't work... looks like a crystal once every earth day. fuuuug that. bringing a pt or something down every day just to hope it pops when you feed it... not to mention it being surrounded by Cave Tigers and Great Ameretats and Fleas...

ok lol update again:

It takes crystals every 24 game hours (not just at 0:00). This most likely pops the NM in the dats called Crystal Eater (name sounds like a worm, but mushroom description sounds like a funguar). We have fed it 3 times now, keeps "growing a bit."

Update----

Fed it like 6 times now, still same message. Fed it same element as day, stronger, weaker, etc... perhaps it needs to be fed one of each crystal or maybe a cluster. *shrug*

But I will say we engaged a Great Ameretat that was next to the Dampsoil and that fucking thing had some insane regen... RDM/NIN and 68PUP(me) could not damage it enough to bring it down, so we slept it and pulled it away and its regen was gone. Also for those unaware, Ameretats only use the TP move Vampiric Root, which happens to absorb every buff you have on if it hits... However this one hadn't used that so it couldn't have absorbed regen. Plus their melee hits have additional effect: Drain.

This is just making me suspicious that if a Funguar or plantoid 'Crystal Eater' pops from this thing, it might have this insane regen for being on/near Dampsoil... still rather unclear at the moment.

Gave up. It took a dark cluster but gave the exact same message as every other trade. 6 hours of duoing tigers between feedings got pretty boring.

Killed Devout Radol Ja just a few Min ago. No drop. not even crystals. making it 0/2 with ryko's kill.

Thing I noticed, much like Rykos account was that at 98%, I did a 600Spinning dive, took off 2% of his HP. At 55% It ran out of MP, but didnt Benediction. at this point a 700 Tachi:Gekko only took off 1%HP.
at32% Gekko600ish+Evisceration300+ 300ishMB didnt even move HP bar 1%.
at 4%...It Bene'd...
It stayed at about 12-1300dmg for 1% to go down for the rest of the fight, and we werent too heavy on the damage. drk sam thf smn nin rdm rdm for damage. took about 1.5hrs to kill total.

Fucking finally. After giving up, I went to go drop one more crystal into this thing before sitting lfp on PUP, so I ran down and it happened to be wind weather and I gave it a wind crystal. Poof. I was on 37 WHM so take that damage for whatever it is. It went unclaimed and started walking around a bit then depopped after a few minutes...

I think the problem is determining whether Wind Crystal & Wind Weather was really the conditions for the pop or whether it was the 6 or so Crystals and Cluster my friend and I had fed it hours ago.

Has anyone been able to confirm that Templar Mace drops from Lamia No.19? I haven't seen anything to suggest otherwise, but I have yet to hear of anyone who has popped it in a situation where they are actually equipped to handle killing it.

killed Crystal Eater as BST/WHM, it was an easy but long fight. Drag it to the room south west with 3 Diremites, drag the fight into the corridor each pet swap so your pet repops fresh. I didnt notice any regen, I never saw its hp percent go up - maybe my pet was just doing enough damage to combat it effectively. There was no weather during the fight, popped at 18:00 firesday, died at about 1:00 earthday.

No drop. And by no drop, I mean NO drop. Not even a crystal.


Wind Crystal (lightning day) > Wind Crystal (Lightsday) > Water Crystal (Darksday) > Lightning Crystal (Firesday)

Obviously no direct correlation between the trade and the pop, maybe it affects what drops or something -_-

104xp with sanction bonus, it was probably level 73 - as much as that means for NM's. Im gonna walk back around and check the Damp Earth again, I had to drop off a ledge to fight the NM. GOOD GAME 4 HOURS TO POP AN NM THAT DROPPED NOTHING. HELLO SEA!

Edit: I walked around and the Damp Soil was up again (it was longer than 5 mins, but shorter than 15), and just got the generic "There is a mushroom growing here". Lame. Im not popping that again until someone gets a drop haha.

Rapture Earring is a very disappointing item... heh. Not sure I'll be putting forth much more effort to pop that pile of crap. If so, only under the hopes that it drops 2 items like a lot of these NMs have been doing.

As for Big Bomb, I explored briefly in Halvung looking for it when I saw it listed on Mtour. The first location of Friar's Lanterns is the strip along I-7 to I-9, I killed bombs there for a few hours with no luck, but looking at the place in the .dats with nearby trolls, this isn't the spot, as there are just Eruca on both sides immediately. The other Friar's Lantern location has two levels and I couldn't get to the lower level solo because of a Mirror and NMs at J-4/J-5 in a tight room. This seems to be the only way to get to the bottom level with the bombs. The top level had the trolls and the bottom level the bombs. This is probably the location that the NM spawns somehow, and with fire bomblet the obvious choice for a drop, one of the few items added in this update that some jobs would keep on full time, I'm going to take a group out there to get by the mirror later.

As for the Wamoura NM, no idea, but the biggest density of them I saw was H-4. I didn't kill anything here.

most ToA NMs seem to have 1 pretty nice drop, and another that youd have a hard time selling for 1k, so hopefully it might still have something of use.
