In computer science, besides the common use as "rule of thumb" (see heuristic), the term heuristic has two well-defined technical meanings.

I deleted my post, when I learned that word there wasnt a 'computer science' version of it, or atleast I never knew about it.

sheesh, thats just selfish of someone that doesn't play the game to show concern about versions of the windower going out without testing.
he really is an asshole for doing this, I need some romans to help me crucify him. since he's so selfish and all, troglodytes.

It appears the site is up.. sorta. I only got the list of files, rather than the index page to show. Though it did have some interesting things there... like the C++ source to windower 2.1, and a screenshot of timestamp. Not to mention other things.

I'd imagine Cliff would be none to happy to see any of those out and about, either.

An experimental version of Windower was released on accident earlier tonight. Unfortunately, this experimental build will corrupt POL files, causing a reinstall of FFXI and it's expansion packs. The reason it was released is because I am located somewhere that I cannot compile the final build, and there was a communication problem as which version was the one for release today. If you did download a copy of this experimental build, we suggest you fully delete that windower directory from your system: including all scripts, plugins, the launcher and hook. Once again, this release will corrupt POL files, but you can get the correct version from the link below. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

hes talking about this i think

    Code:
#FFXILanguage may be NA or JP
    # (Doesn't matter if you have POL for this language installed)
    # Leave blank to default to POL Language
    FFXILanguage=JP

Mmm i remeber him talking about that before. After all, the only thing needed to switch the game to JP is POL, and that doesnt really do anything aside from telling what text to display ingame. So if he found the switch, thats cool.

I guess I needed subtitles on my posts when I was agreeing.

I'm sure every student with any basic programming knowledge gives cliff shit.

I couldn't imagine what this guy has to deal with.
    "where is my windower?!"
"you really think SE uses double UDP? wtf?"

He's probably sitting in his cubicle, playing any game but FFXI.
yet still doing it for us sorry bastids.

Yes it was in one of the downloads, but was taken back out because it wasn't supposed to be released.

Oh noes, I deleted timestamp when I fully deleted my windower folder, including scripts and screenshots, like he said! Well, at least it won't corrupt POL now.

If he doesn't care, why was he making a big deal about not giving out the windower source, timestamp, etc. when its all right there?

If you're smart, you wouldn't use Timestamp anyways... but we'll leave that to be discovered by the general populous when the "WTF WHY DID I GET LM-11'd TODAY?!?!? FUCK!" threads start popping up.
