Because half of FFXI players (and the majority of those heavy into endgame) are social freaks who, instead of being interesting and charismatic in their own right, latch onto catchphrases and play them out trying to look cool.

Hence, half of all posts on BG are one of the following:

A) IBTL

B) Ban (this used to be showing a picture of a kinda funny kunocard, but that got beaten into the ground so badly even these mouth-breathers could sense it)

C) lolsomething. Why saying lolfollowedbysomethingwithoutaspacebarisfunnyisbey ondmebutitswhattheydo, and goddamn it, they're gonna keep doing it even after all the humor is gone.

I was just asking. I found no irony in it. I think fads are for sheep. Just don't think you're that much better then the sheep just because you're not conforming. Everyone conforms to something in their life, some predesignated expectation of them. It's not always a bad thing, but everyone gets caught up in doing what others do, because others do it.
