My shells achievements go beyond simply killing AV. We've probably done more shit in sea than any other shell server wide, killed more nms, and gotten more drops, and we only go twice a week. I'm not impressed by what ever credentials his shell has.

I don't see you tanking charybdis now do I?Originally Posted by Map
Doesn't need to spam TP attacks for SB to work its magic. In fact, NMs with insane automed (fafnir) SB is actually worth less than NMs where they only use TP moves when you give them TP (Chary, Tiamat, Jorm, etc).Originally Posted by inafume

Were 0:4 on popping AV, that makes your shell > mine? Can't rank an LS on sea achievements...other LSs just find more utility in doing other things besides sea...like dynamis lord, Vrtra/Tiamat, w/e floats your boat.
No matter how much sea you do, it doesn't reduce the amount of stupidity residing between your ears.
On the argument as to whether another job should have gotten it, like I said, it has been explained many times that their LS is point-based only and for good reason. Furthermore, I've yet to read any posts by someone in their sea LS saying "Map got the sash and he didn't deserve it, it should have gone to this NIN" or whatever.Originally Posted by senoska
As far as saying it's not the best waist for SAM, if this was a "what's the best waist for SAM" thread and not a "Let's pick on Map" thread, i'm sure you'd have been laughed back to "ZAM" by now, as they say.

First, let me be clear. I am not in Friction's shell. I am not on Friction's server.
I am not on RKenshin's server either, and he was probably the very first person to prototype nin/drk with katanas on Grand Wyrms, another situation where SB on the ninja would benefit the fight to a nontrivial degree.
You are not in a position to dismiss this claim. The fact that you are totally ignorant of how mobs gain TP (duh they gain TP from magic damage? y r ther so many garoodaz?) reinforces this fact. You're a melee DD, and apparently a particularly ignorant one at that. You just need to be swapped in and press your WS macros and obviously don't pay any attention to how the tank/healer parts of a NM function.
Fact remains that tebbad/gregale wings wipe shadows, and inflict nasty status ailments that cause a shitload of mp to recover completely. And a wing + double-attack during PMS mode on Tiamat could wipe out a tank from full. But you keep thinking that mob TP is unimportant, because as long as you press your macros in the right order you'll do just fine.
hes saying its the best, I am saying its not. There are many other options, what did it come out to 6TP? Lol. You can get this faster buy meditating and poping sleep potions with an opo opo necklace.
I'm sure map earned it but, again, its wasted on his charater. Anywho I got to go I've got people yelling at me to go, ive been reading this thread insted of packing for meh trip~ take it easy BG, see ya tuesday ~.~;;
I understand Subtle Blow and what it's good for. I was just taking issue that someone *needed* SB for Chary. It's a easy fight when you go with the adage less is more. THF get one really awesome piece of SB gear (DH) and I still use SH when tanking Chary.Originally Posted by aurik
Now Ash Dragon is a much better answer. Not that it's worth fighting anymore.
I'm not argueing that TP gain is worthless on HNM, i'm argueing that subtle blow on ninjas is for HNMs. And it is worthless. And if subtle blow is so spectacular, i might add, it's a good thing i've got 6 of it for my ws spam.Originally Posted by aurik
Clearly, the sash is the best waist item for a SAM tping, although situationally a Life Belt could come in handy...maybe.
Clearly, SeaShell is an only Sea LS so they have to run on points (which I think is the best way anyway, but that's a whole other argument). Map and the aforementioned DRK were the alone at the top.
Clearly, there's no reason to cry about who has the sash.
Clearly, people still do, and I don't fucking know why.

Would you not contest that Chary would be easier with a ninurta's sash?Originally Posted by inafume
Still worth more to have nin tank chary with sash while a sam with another belt meditate->WS. In fact, in any case where there are both a sam and nin meleeing a mob with TP moves and you must distribute a speed belt and sash between the two, ninja is a better choice to have the sash. I'll leave the math as an exercise to the reader.Originally Posted by inafume
It's because people who like to post on BG but have nothing useful to contribute--like Senoska or Banstick but unlike Aurik--bring it up in every other thread "lol SAM got a sash" to earn themselves cool-points. Just do a search for "sam AND sash" and you'll see what i'm talking about.Originally Posted by Tom Chambers
It's not worthless. If anything, unless you're zerging with a bunch of melee jobs or have a blm division dropping a ton of damage magic, a grand wyrm gains a good share of its TP from the nin/drk whacking it when it lands. Reducing that amount by 8-9% means less TP moves which means a smoother, faster, less dangerous fight.Originally Posted by Map
And as I stated before, nin tanks give the wyrm much more TP over time than your infrequent WS "spam". Therefore, giving them the SB reduces TP given a lot more than having it on some person that occasionally swaps in to WS.
