Can someone enlighten a non-MNK and 65 PUP what gear Monks use to max out their damage on AF and DK? Are STR and Attack the sole modifers?

For Asuran you need enough Accuracy to land all 8 hits, because missing one will hurt more than the damage you'd gain by stacking STR

It depends, if you're going to use them on hNMs for example, sneak attack helps DK a lot more than it would asuran, or you can sub mnk and boost atk to 999 before using DK.

Asuran is gravitation, so yes soil gorget. As for how noticable, its a major ACC increase and decent damage increase.

As was said, AF is Gravitation -> Fire, so Soil/Shadow/Flame all work. Any 75 MNK should carry 1 of those a long with Thunder, that covers the significant HTH WS, AF, DK, RF, HF. Since PUP don't get AF, they could just get a Thunder Gorget and be done really.

For AF and RF acc is the most important, for DK (or FH) mods are worth putting some work into but that doesn't mean ignoring attack, it depends what you're fighting (say, VT bones or say, Proto-Ultima), if you have a BRD, if you're stacking boosts or getting a single one... Mods shouldn't be the first thing you adjust, but pretending mods don't do anything is ignoring fairly basic math.

Ryko's comment is something along the lines that Modifiers are what people talk about when they have no idea what they are talking about. I don't get that quote since its obvious those stats have a clear effect on damage. Switching back to the main topic, what, if anything, can PUPs equip to maximize HF and DK damage w/o Osodes, belts, etc.?

The point of his quote is that people alot of times will pile up secondary stat mods in the place of things like Acc or Att because they think it's better (primary example - Using things like Pixie Earring or Commander's Cape for Blade: Jin), while having basically 0 understanding of how the mods work.

Edit: Even with his freak 300% TP raging fists doing 600 damage at 5%, I won. Undefeated - and a Mana Channeler to show for it.

I WANTED Target Marker/Attuner, but hey - gotta start somewhere. I'm happy.
