Hence its comparison to the scenario of BLMs getting their Tier III GA's from an ENM or something of the sort.

I don't think 200~300k Tier II attachments were even the real topic at the moment. >_>

You just have no concept of the price of being a melee DD.

This lame argument again. Sure, you can never get refunded (oh besides doing the ENM and getting the drop again, which obviously anyone who isn't a PUP can't do!) but you also never give up the ability either--you can always switch back to PUP and boom, II-attachments.

A war *could* sell his hauby to do other things, but then he may-as-well have never levelled war.

Anyway, it's a cost to level the job. Get used to it. It's not an unreasonable amount, and based on what you guys are saying about the drop rate, the market hasn't even really been populated. Hello, I spend 60-100k on consumables every time I merit, and I'm not even a Ninja or Ranger. 300k is cheap.

I'm not complaining about the price. I think 300k is good to step up PUPs capabilities, only thing that annoys me is availability.

I didn't know the 200~300k for tier II attachments was an issue...

The tier IIs arent what we were talking about, at least I wasnt when I referred to the "required" attachments. The tier IIs are easy enough to get, unless PUP is your only job and you dont buy gil, so 300-500k a pop might be a stretch on your wallet. Compared to the tier IIIs, the tier IIs are a joke to get considering the pop timer for the Hilltroll PUPs as well as the ISNMs.

There wont be a market for the tier IIIs for several months, aside from some lucky people who get doubles/repeats early on. With an ENM drop rate of less than 10%, the fact that each server currently has about 5 people that can do it, the randomness associated with the ENM60s (gogo benediction dice + valoredge frame) and that no intelligent PUP would sell any of their first tier III drops, I'd be surprised if we see more than the "Ooooh look at me" self sales for quite some time. For the rare ones that do make it to the AH within the next few months, I would honestly expect to pay somewhere in the 5-10M range without blinking.

Now to mention the massive amount of people who still LOSE this ENM, thus nulling any chance at a drop even when I posted a strategy for it.

    (Idiots.)

Hi, ever leveled up mage? Yeah, hmmm I know I would love to be able to resell scrolls, cuse you know, theyre dirt cheap.

Why do people invite PUPs anyway? If they are going to stoop to a low end dmg dealer, atleast get a BST. BST > DRG > PUP

To reiterate, the previous posts were referring to not being able to resell RARE attachments that have a LOW droprate from a 5 day ENM. Not some blackmage reselling Stonega 2, there's a difference.

And no one is really complaining about not being able to sell it, just with how slow it is for them to come INTO the market. Or the lack of a market, because the only people that can obtain them would probably use them.

MNK party at KRT for Scroll >> 5 day ENM for piss drop rate on a random of 8 possible attachments.

why is /drg rarely mentioned as a viable sub? especially post 70 when you get the second jump

lvl 35 war sub gives berserk, double attack, attack bonus ,and lolwarcry

lvl 35 drg sub gives attack bonus, accuracy bonus, jump, high jump and a 5% haste earing.

and meh i leveled to 75 without o kote,i gave up after i kept falling asleep farming tigers while lfg and i have melee gloves now. the pricetag on o.kote is kinda expecting a lot from a first job monk if you ask me. sad thing is when i was like lvl 30-40 monk i remember o kote being 300k >.>

Been drinking your haterade? Yeah, a BST in his charm gear without a pet will get out-DD by a DRG.

But a BST in actual melee gear with a pet, jug or otherwise, will beat most anything in medium/long fights.

(And no sig yet cause am lazy and figured I better make an account here to respond to the moron who doesn't know jack about BST)

Ridill is kinda gimp for BST anyway isn't it? Give them the Jailer Axe offhand and mainhand Maneater or Juggy.

Bzzzt. Thanks for playing "I've never looked at a parse". PUP smashes any of the other pet jobs in xp, the difference in pet damage isnt even close between the three short of a bst using its 2 hour or if it has a steady supply of EMish mobs to charm. A good DRG will outdamage the PUP itself, post 60, but the gap isnt enough to make up the 4-5% wyvern vs. 10-20% from the puppet. At endgame once you start stacking the tier III attachments the dmg ratio for PUP goes from 70/30 to 50/50, possibly more.

The only current limitation for PUP in a merit pt that Im worried about is the lack of haste/multiple hit attack rounds for puppets. Hopefully af2 addresses this with something similar to the DRG piece that grants the pet the master's subjob abilites (DA from /war). Tactical Processor sounds like haste, but only for casting frames, it cant be used on the melee combinations (short of ranger frame/harleq. head).

Have you been drinking your haterade? BST has no offensive JAs whatsoever, and not to mention is probably subbing nin. DRG/WAR with love halberd and a even somewhat mediocre gear set up (but let's say they have the most uber equip like your bst must have to outdmg a drg) will outdamage a job with 500 point WSs. Berserk, Double attack, Triple attack, and maybe even a fucking quadruple attack > your bst, i'm sorry.

Yeah, you will out damage the BST. But there is the small matter of whatever pet he has you need to add in, and looky looky, the BST wins.

And yeah, i sub /NIN because I need a place to hold my Temp Axe, since thinking of a BST using Ridill with our awesome 200 sword skill is just plain retarded (even if i had one, would never use).

So, what you're saying is that you were wrong and I'm right? It's already been said before that jugpets eat dick I didn't know I had to mention that too.

Good points all around but Enitsu and Mio keep hitting the nail on the head. What market is there going to be for extremely helpful attachments that may drop once ever 5 days from a cheap ENM? The answer is one very limited and one surely to be exploited by lvl 20 PUPs with lots of gil.

No, you are ignoring the pet's damage period, read closer. And with Beast Affinity now, the jugs are even better.

    There are 2 situations here.

    1. BST is in an exp PT with a wild pet. In this situation the BST wins against anything.

    2. Using jug pets. In a TP burn BST will lag behind slightly just cause of having to tell the pet to attack, but to be honest, a good BST hits about as good as other jobs. Then you add in the pet, that cannot hit for 0, and with Beast affinity now parses at 80% accuracy. Hell, even on HNMs, with how broken BST pet damage is, leaving a BST in the whole fight could outparse anyone else on a normal lenght Kirin even before the new affinity merits.

It is all situational anyway, it seems you hate BST and don't know much cause of the Ridill comment, so I'm not gonna argue. BST is DoT, not spike, and we'll leave it at that and stop the derailment.

Anyway, back on topic, 30 more levels til i can bitch about the ENM too.

What the fuck? How many times have numerous bsts come on this very forum bitching about how much jugpets suck. You're right, I don't know much about bsts because *gasp* every job outdamages them and they aren't lined up LFP everytime i exp. Ridill comment was a joke since the general consensus is ridill=god. Bst will not outdamage a drg in an exp unless they want to gimp their exp with a wild pet. You must not know much about drg either because that's a "DoT" job just like your uber bst. Like I said first off get real, it's not happening. They're aren't enough jug pets that are worth a damn available.
