Doofy, I use Enitsu's excellent strategy but if it calls Harlequin, it will Dia 2 your automaton and it will go down no matter how fast you use repair and it spams cure IV. Same deal with Valoredge. It is exteremely frustrating to wait 5 days and have that happen.

I've had to deal with every frame so far except stormwaker. Valoredge frame dropped me on my first attempt, I tried using the stormwaker frame for A.D.D which doesnt work. Ranger frame was used on number #2 and its a joke considering both you and your puppet can whomp on the mannequin without worrying about the maton's damage. Harlequinn was the frame used on #3, which dropped the Attuner, and it wasnt too difficult. I did have to pop my elixers near the end, and my puppet did KO @5%, but that was mostly due to fanto getting 3 tp rolls in a row.

The key seems to be keeping the mannequin's maton engaged with yours, while both of you hit fanto (flash spam fanto with your puppet and wear as much eva as you can/eva merits). A win or a loss is pretty much whether or not you can keep your puppet alive long enough while both of you hit the mannequin. If I'm unlucky in the future and get another valoredge frame, I'll probably just try to drop it asap and hope that it calls a different one, although someone posted that it can activate the same frame repeatedly.

All of the strats on this are moot though if the goblin decides to give you the shaft at any time and roll a benediction dice or whatever, which is a load of BS.

What I don't get is why it can call another maton right away after the last is called. I can understand a SMN calling out an avatar right away but a PUP who has a 20 min timer on matons? If we could take out the maton right away, this ENM would be more much controllable and interesting. The bitching would also surely die down.

My second win on this was using ADD. It seems they made a change recently, deactivating removes your manuvers (which have no effect on resummoned maton anyway) and resets elemental fatigue if you arent overloaded (or seems to). You can almost always A-lightmanuver-D-D and get a cure every time, even with stormwaker head, if you are below 60% HP. As long as you dont draw a valoredge, you have a good chance with add or any strat.
I'm assuimg you're tanking with Valor here?

Pretty much, regardless of the strat you use, you're pretty much screwed if he draws valor. Anything else, then all you have to worry about is the dice rolls.

-edit- nvm, i see now, harlequin. but which head do you use with it? harlequin both? just wonderin, because harlequin cant use as many attachments. How did you gear him out? (note so far all I have for tier III is eraser- Which apparently works on anything but doom, or so i've heard.)

If you get a ranger frame or stormwaker maton, you can win doing just about anything since all you have to do is run out of melee range and the maton will just cast/rattk at the usual intervals. The frame I use is the same as Enitsu, harleq body/valor head. This setup can cure, flash, melee, debuff and voke. It also has enough mp and hp to last a long time against whatever maton the mannequin calls, Enitsu even beat valoredge with this. My fight against the harlequinn fanto pup was a bit of a challenge, but the sharpshot fight was a joke (my maton never went below 800 hp and I never went below 700).

A.D.D also does not reset burden, in fact it puts it near maximum, as does zoning. You can get lucky with af gloves and not overload right away with only 1 maneuver, but it still happens a lot and isnt something I would want to rely on. Since I spam 3 FMs in xp now, the gloves are a permanent piece I wear, and I almost never overload. When I level up however, deactivate/reactivate Clank to update its stats, and throw the FMs on, it almost always overloads before the 3rd one is back on.

Btw, how good is the eraser attachment? I know it doesnt remove Doom, but how often can you reuse it? I assume its a maneuver triggered ability, but does it have the same recast as the spell erase?

so should I just keep a light manuver up so it will flash, and cure; and fire manuver as a lifeline if I need it? (I.e. keep fanto on me most of the time, or have him tank both?)

My recommendation is to use Damage Gauge to control its curing priority, while saving your Light Maneuvers for Flash Bulb... and only use them when necessary so you can have the Fantoccini flashed when it tries to use a WS from a TP/WS dice roll, or in a crucial low-HP moment.

Keep it voking as much as it can with a Fire Maneuver + Strobe so you can punch it in the back and not get guarded half the time (helps a lot with dmg to wait until it turns around before you WS so you don't get a guarded Raging Fists) One solid Raging Fists in the back of its head will pull a lot of hate and it will pretty much be bouncing back and forth or just on you. Drink those potions so a surprise WS doesn't drop your ass from 80%.

Other than that, I use Shock Absorber to just help it stay alive, using Repair the second it gets hurt, so 3 minutes into the fight I can do it again.

Also, I don't go into the fight with less than 30+ Hi-Potions, a Persikos drink, TP wing, and a good piece of food, like Sole Sushi (pup mobs have pretty high evasion and the HP helps a bit too)

    My ENM60 Gear:

    Emperor Hairpin
    Pup. Tobe
    Pup. Dastanas
    Pup. Churidars
    Pup. Babouche
    T.M. Hooks +2
    Bomb Queen Ring
    Rajas Ring
    Accurate Earring
    Velocity Earring
    Life Belt
    Peacock Charm
    Republic Mantle
    Turbo Animator
    Automaton Oil +2

My one loss was because I used to be lame and use Stormwaker frame which was being curiously retarded by casting blind/poison instead of curing, combined with the fact that it was a Valoredge frame I was up against. Enitsu's info on his strategy proved to be useful. I owe him one Attuner.

What abotu the TP wing- Start with it? or use it after first WS?

using harlq. head or valoredge head solves this problem. Valor head will only cure, harlq. will use bio II in addition. The real danger is having that suprise WS get you, outside of that, this doesnt work too badly.

    So here's what I'm thinking:

Have harley start the fight, with a fire manuver up
engage, repair after a short time
automaton heals itself when it gets low (but wont it get interrupted??), extending its lifespan.
WS from behind and pull hate
    TP wing, WS again
Stay alive with hipotions til it's dead.
all the while, use a light manuver after a dice roll if it puts you in danger.

Ehh, I tend to use the Icarus Wing right when I enter just so I have TP from the get-go. I then WS when my Automaton gets down to about 50% from double-tanking so it has some time to relax a bit and regen back up.

[I am finding it a very delicate balance between spamming hipots and stopping to use maneuvers in order not to fail when things get crazy.]

Enitsu's post several pages back already explains the method I developed after my first loss. I didnt bother reposting because he covered just about everything, but here :

1.Activate / Icarus wing / reraise earring / blink band when you enter. I would use a stoneskin torque as well, but no one on Asura bothers to make them.

2.Wait three minutes if you want so stoneskin cast is up on the puppet (I usually dont bother with this but you have plenty of time, a win usually takes no longer than 6-7 minutes).

3.Send in the puppet on the mannequin and let it get a few hits in, start a repair cycle. (you'll know in this section if its going to be easy or hard, the mannequin puppet will summon here).

4.Unless its a valoredge frame, leave the puppet attacking the mannequin and engage, its damage will add up and there's no reason to attack the mannequin's maton unless its a valoredge. Use tp from the side or behind for full damage when you start. Also, remember to pull back if its a stormwaker or sharpshot maton, makes the fight a joke other than the dice rolls.

5.You will most likely have hate for the duration of the fight, but its not solid, so a single voke from your puppet will draw hate away from you for either a WS or if you're in danger.

6.Spam high pots as needed and just smack Fanto (I use +3s) Make a macro for any meds as well, such as elixers and remedies. I usually keep a light maneuver active at all times so it will always cure if needed and spam flash. Dice roll tp moves are usually too quick to catch so I just spam flash every 45 seconds.

7.If your maton gets low on mp and you use the SW frame instead of the Harlequinn, use your 2 hour to give it manafont. I havent had to do this yet, but you might as well use it if you have to.

*Edit - Finally got a besieged in. Dmg at 68 was almost the same as it was in xp

Good god, Undead Swarm Besieged sucks so much ass.

Nearly impossible to get a good test on these mobs with all the AoE nonsense left and right, not to mention the retarded fact that if you get charmed your pet depops..... on top of Skeletons & Ghosts being so melee-resistant.

Best data I could gather with Attuner was my Lv.73 Valoredge automaton (skill: 229/232) doing consistant 30-50 dmg per swing (75-80 crits) on a NM Bhoot.

Also, I had it engaged on a Lamia Jaeger for a while and it was doing consistant 55~75 dmg per swing (80~100 crits). Not bad at all.

This is pretty much with 1-2 Fire Maneuvers.
    (Attuner & Tension Spring II)

I tried to send 'er after Lamia No.4 but, since in order to even see my automaton, I need to be standing on its heels, and target-locked onto it, I was in Charmga range and... --poof--

Mamool Ja Savages advancing at the moment, so perhaps I'll get some better data if I don't get Mijin Gakure'd for 4000 dmg.

P.S. I'm having my doubts about Analyzer being the 'Shield Bash' attachment because I Deployed my automaton on a Bhoot for the first time (that happened to be casting something) and it immediately bonked and stunned it for 50 dmg. I'm leaning towards Analyzer simply increasing how quick debuffs wear off of your automaton. I always used the attachment in Imp parties hoping it would help amnesia/silence to wear off quicker and I'm almost certain it does, although when exactly things wear off is sometimes difficult to monitor. (sidenote::: "enhanced repair" definitely erases ANY one negative effect on your automaton. I began carrying around lv.15 oils just to macro in for repair just for erase reasons, while macroing in the +2s for regen reasons)
