regardless of whether its a joke or not, i will always sub /thf for this enm just out of superstition since i've always got 0 drops with a random sub and always had at least a worm mulch drop when i subbed thf. only thing you lose by subbing /thf is a 5minute walk instead of an instant free warp with /blm.Originally Posted by Tahngarthor

Or you have a weak sense of how absurd it is to claim a non-existant sub-job helps increase drops from an Armory Crate. (sub-job and level restrictions wear off after you open it)Originally Posted by Tahngarthor

On a side note, I got the joke, I'm surprized so many people missed it, although Tahn is a bit of a joke himself =)
Unless your puppet is busted or something, it should already flash/voke/etc. right after a maneuver is used. This attachment was supposed to reduce the ridiculously high casting/attack delays that the puppet has by default, but as of right now it doesnt do jack. Im still trying to see if it does anything else, but right now its just a waste of a slot that causes overloads.my thinking was that it would make your automaton react faster to commands i.e. a more instant result when u use a manvuer to get flash or voke etc. or that it would make shield bash faster in trying to stop a ws or something. (although that would seem rather trivial.)

That is such a bust. How unfortunate... on this topic, had anyone figured out what exactly the Turbo Animator does over the normal one?(apart from the hidden DEX+2 effect on the Puppetmaster) I had assumed but had been much too lazy to test if it was just a weak, overall haste effect on melee/ranged/casting delays. If it isn't I'd fall back on a secondary theory of the Turbo Animator (and perhaps Tactical Processor as well) upping priorities with minimal maneuver usage... for example, sometimes it takes 2+ light maneuvers to really make your automaton cure you instead of Bio/Dia, perhaps making PUP as a sub that much harder to control because it doesn't do quite what you tell it to without the lv.40 PUP-exclusive AF1 animator. After all, the PUP quest taru always said "is your automaton getting more responsive?" Perhaps referring to it doing what you want it to do by maneuver usage. I have some ls mates leveling pup now and they keep coming to me with complaints that it won't cure them until it's too late and just not doing what they want them to do. *shrug*Originally Posted by doofy
With that in mind, perhaps Tactical Processor makes you gain more out of fewer maneuvers? Would explain why it appears to do nothing at the moment... :\
How did the two tier II atk/acc match up? I think I missed the tests.
Did you mean Tension Spring II & Stabilizer II? Or did you mean Attuner & Target Marker?Originally Posted by BRP
Still no noticable influence from the Tactical Processor after another series of testing. Since they're nerfing A.D.D in the patch Im hoping they either fix it (and the damn scanner so A.D.D nuking isnt needed) or I can find out just what the hell its supposed to do.

Has anyone tried using the Tier III attachments with the standard Animator (not Turbo Animator)?
Maybe the Turbo Animator is required to use the Tier III's, which would prevent /PUP from getting their full effect (or to prevent a level 1 PUP from buying Tier III attachments and having a super-puppet).
Just a random guess, since none of the other tests have revealed much about what Turbo Animator does.
Finally lol. 2/5 now and despite a very close fight, one which he thankfully called the Sharpshooter frame, I was able to win and acquire a Tactical Processor. Doofy, I noticed it is 2 ice and that the only way I can get it on my Valoredge or Sharpshooter maton is by using the Harlequin head. What combos have you used? I am going to try to get a skillup party going to see if there are any differences.
Err.. sorry, I meant Attuner and Target Marker.Originally Posted by miokomioko

Accuracy isn't mentioned because it's still pretty much top-notch, barely misses. Holding 3 Fire maneuvers on the Valoredge makes a huge difference in dmg, but after a few rounds of keeping 3 of them up, even with AF hands and Heatsink, it will overload. Good to alternate one of the Fires to a Ltng occasionally if that's your route. I still am preferring the Sharpshot frame lately because of the noticable increase in ranged attack dmg (which is affected by Attuner as far as I can see). Sometimes my automaton pulls hate off a solid provoke because as soon as I deploy it does a 170 dmg ranged attack, 220 dmg Arcuballista, then crits for 80+.
I am pleased.
Same combo, in order to get the attachment to even fit on either melee frame you do have to use the harlequinn headpiece. Ive also tried the different casting setups, including the enm60 setup I use, with no improvment. What combos have you used? I am going to try to get a skillup party going to see if there are any differences.
You're really overloading with af gloves + heatsink? I doubt that I have simply been lucky for the past 1.5 weeks in xp. Are you spamming fire every 10 seconds instead of waiting for the 60 second maneuver window to expire before having to refresh? I really do have to struggle to create an overload when FMs are involved, and the only way is either trying to use the Tactical Processor or spamming a maneuver every 10 seconds.Holding 3 Fire maneuvers on the Valoredge makes a huge difference in dmg, but after a few rounds of keeping 3 of them up, even with AF hands and Heatsink, it will overload.
Since I assume that the puppet gets the same bonus vs. flying mobs that players get, of course the rattk puppet will be the way to go in the Mire. Im spam leveling my rattk this weekend before the patch hits now that Im in Mire xp range. Just to clarify, your Targer Marker is or isn't influencing your puppet's racc?

I almost always wait for maneuver #3 to wear off before replacing it with another. Either way, I almost prefer to do 2 fire + 1 ltng for some noticable accuracy increase. I'd rather do a little less dmg and hit almost every time than vice versa.Originally Posted by doofy
I recall a looong time ago when the new jobs were first introduced, some Lollakhazam person testing and stating weather and day affects overloads pretty potently. I don't know how much faith to put into this, but he was explaining that on Earthsday/weather, likelyhood of overloading with an Earth maneuvers rose considerably. And accordingly, you could spam all the Earth maneuvers on Windsday/weather with little worry of overloading due to that maneuver being weak to the surrounding day/weather element. I'm hoping my experience with fire-overloads was either a fluke or some unlucky firesday action in the mire, either way, I'll try it out some more.
Yeah, they do get the piercing bonus against flying mobs which works well for exp in both Bhaflau and Caedarva... just does something like 90~100 on Skoffins. :\Originally Posted by doofy
As for Target Marker affecting ranged accuracy... you know, I've yet to get some real concrete evidence that it does, but I'm very confident that it's true. Purely from the wording of that last patch that "fixed" Attuner and Target Marker, it sounded pretty obvious to me that they weren't affecting before and were now going to. The wording of the attachments themselves is still not supporting of this, but I'm shrugging this off in the light of the dissapointing Tactical Processor... :(
Since I'm bored out of my mind right now from seeking, I might switch over to BRD/PUP with and without Target Marker and test its accuracy against a Grand Marid while I kite it around or something.
Just finished ENM #5 and what a pain in the ass it was. Had to deal with 2 Valoredge frames and a Sharpshot frame but it was worth it......

I'll try to post xp parse results tomorrow, not sure if my group is leveling though plus I need to slow down due to the multiple assault pieces needed @72.

sheesh, congratulations~
I just won the other day with no drops ;[
Funny story. First, I forgot to put on the Strobe attachment so I had to tank it the entire time after I realized why it wasn't provoking. Second, at about 25% HP, Fantoccini got the good 'ol Benediction Dice... sweet. Luckily, he had a Sharpshot frame, but it was still packing a whollop on my automaton which ran out of MP towards the end and I literally had to use all my ~35 Hi-Potions to stay alive because Fantoccini got an Attack Bonus right around then. The only reason I won was because at 1% HP, he missed his One Inch Punch (which would have killed me) because Mandarin Flashbulbed him.
2000 EXP which I eventually lost from fucking around with pre-patch ADD vs Sewer Syrup. (lol)
I was talking to a JPN PUP who has won the enm 6 times. He uses Valoredge head plus Stormwalker body and loads up on +41 evasion gear. I am very tempted to try out this combo. I am guessing you main tank and have the maton just keep healing you with the damage gauge and light maneuvers causing the cure spam. Any thoughts about this viable strategy?
