The job is not thought out past 60, period. If you look at the job based on a 60 cap the job works, especially if you factor in a fully loaded T3 puppet @60. SE was most likely using their old timetables for job progression as far as "finishing" the three new jobs ("Surely they wont reach 75 before Xmas....."). The other new jobs have rollover abilities that let them work @75, but they aren't done yet either. The cat1 merits they threw in were probably put together in a 30 minute meeting, 29 minutes of which involved Sage Sundi saying "Wut" and rolling around on the floor.

PUPs current endgame is the enm60, and as much as it sucks thats pretty much where the job sits right now. I had a fun time leveling it (was the only job other than THF that kept my interest after 37), and was fortunate enough to get some T3 attachments early + a bard from 60-75. Aside from the possible JSE/whatever addition its pretty much on the shelf until Xmas and I'm fine with that. I'd rather wait an extra month or two for them to get it right instead of throwing together a halfassed solution just to shut people up ("My wyvern can get Stoneskin now?!? My prayers have been answered!!")

Now, if the Xmas season comes and goes without significant changes then yeah I'll be just as pissed as everyone else. Right now its cat1 merits are capped and hopefully between now and Xmas I can get the last damn attachment I need. With how much they've put PUP into the ToAU storyline I don't think its a job they're going to leave to rot. But then again, this is SE we're talking about so severe disappointment is always possible.

Always a voice of reason, Vyzrael. You pretty much summed it up. I truly believe SE thought no one would hit 70 by now as PUP. Heck, we went at a slow pace and it still only took us 4-5 months. If they do what they did last update, then we can expect tier IVs this patch and maybe something nice at 70. Maybe.

Oh and btw Much thanks to you two fellow PUPs for the Cabreona (sp) advice. I had the Mannequin call 3 harlequins today and with that food, my Raging Fists took both down to 24% each time (I let the third survive as the Mannequin was at 22% at that point) so I was able to eliminate them quickly. I do believe found where my problem with the ENM was. Again, thank you.

I've been 75PUP for a while and the best way to describe it is underwhelming. I have full h2h,crit,STR merits and i've merited automaton magic skill by 3 to get AeroIII. The drop rate on the ENM kills any enjoyment for doing the one thing each week that a PUP is actually built for. I haven't lost in my last 10 or so attempts, but i'm going on about a 0/7 no drop streak. (I have eraser, smokescreen, attuner)
Dragon Kick puts out 400-700 damage. Accuracy is high as long as you eat sushi. (I am 3/5 pahluhwan [body,hands,legs] which helps of course).

I'm not at all impressed with valouredge or sharpshooter damage... I'm hoping that with target marker the accuracy increases dramatically but as is its poor, especially ranged accuracy. I have attuner and automaton melee hits are similar to my h2h but slower. Automaton weaponskills are embarassing. Stormwaker damage is decent and its been getting resisted less as I've upped the merits. If SE updates the maximum per category of group1 merits I might consider meriting all automaton magic skill. Still waiting on a mana channeler to drop in my lap.

PUP is a fun job and a blast to level up. But it doesn't scale beyond 70 to endgame well at all. It's just an average melee who can do a few neat tricks (flash, cure, enfeeb) and some versatilty in damage types (magic,piercing,slashing,blunt) from the automaton. The Upside: PUP will never be nerfed. It does need some job adjustment love badly.

SElease change the scanner attachment to make it not pointless. As is, if I want no nuking,only enfeebling and curing, I'll put on the harlequin head. If scanner made the automaton choose spells to nuke based on enemy's elemental weakness it would actually match the description of the attachment and have some purpose).

Oh ya I forgot... this PUP tank bs is retarded. Seriously.

What would be nice from scanner, would be if they changed the attachment to make it simillar to the scan spell of the old ff's. It doesn't take a rocket scientist more than 3 minutes to analyze a new mob and find out it's weaknesses, but, if that attachment would give hp/mp/level read outs, it would be very nice. But then again that idea scraps what scanner is "Supposed" to be, but bleh

Yes, I'm 39/40 on all attachments (7/8 on ENM60 attachments). I have nearly a thousand job levels and over 400 days of playtime. I have almost every job over 50 with their AF storylines complete except a couple mage jobs and thief. I'm rank 10 in every nation, ZM complete and working on Sea at the moment while trying to level my jobs.

I'm also not new to FF by far. Restricted to being at home alot because of Asperger's disorder, I started playing FF in 1987 (I was 7 at the time). A very good, real life friend of mine who is 57 got me into PUP. She's my inspiration and she loves this job so much. She's level 61 and soloed on DC and EP all the way to 60. It took her months but parties were treating her badly and they didn't talk to her like she was a real person just trying to enjoy her job. I plan on giving my first set of duplicates to her because I think she may have some difficulty soloing the ENM60. I, however, like to think I'm pretty good at solo play having soloed some of the hardest soloable mobs and avatars in the game with BST, one of my 75 jobs.

I registered to reply to a post that brought my name up and it shouldn't have. I'm in no way bragging. There are people with half my playtime that have accomplished much more because I tend to spend alot of time just helping others rather than myself. And the 100 million in Dynamis currency is a pretty decent chunk toward a relic weapon. I have enough to buy up to Stage 3.
