I'll keep the game in English anyway, Final Fantasy french translations are always really bad and you can't even talk about the game to most people when you don't play it with the common terms.

I don't know about the french, but most German students learn a lot of English in high school, and most are capable of reading and writing it by the time they're in college even if it doesnt relate to their primary focus in school. I figure most German FF fans have already bought the game. Not really sure how many German-speaking-only people there are who will buy the game whose interface and graphics are 3 years old D:

Ahh, so this is their solution to maintaining profit on the product. Release the game on new platforms, and expand localization to encompass new languages every now and then. Now more of the world can be exposed to the brilliance that is Square-Enix. /sarcasm

Unfortunatly, I doubt we'll have a choice. They said it will be sort of an Update, so one day, you'll just log on your EU POL, will be forced to download this stupid update, and find all your stupid game in French, or in German.

Its kind of like when you send a GM call: a GM speaking French (lol...) or German will automatically answer in your language, even though you placed the call with English words.

So, all in all, FUCK THAT. Why would I play FFXI in French? Most words will be mistranslated, fucked up, or won't have the same meaning at all. Plus, playing this game in English make you learn lots of stuffs about English language, like, common saying, etc.
