Well i have friends that are rejoiced about having the game in french because lots of people here don't speak english. But it's a sure thing they should work on optimizing the game before this. Including other languages should have been done when they released the game in Europe, not 2 years after that.

Living in London, I've had a reasonable amount of contact with my EU brethren, and generally their grasp of English is good. I'm sure that most of them are educated to a standard where they're comfortable playing in English. Several times I've been merrily chatting away with party members in English in an xp party, and all of a sudden they break out in French to each other and I'm like 'oh wow you're not actually English speakers as your first language?'

Ahem. During the first gulf war, more English troops died from friendly fire, (US mistakes) than were killed by Iraqi forces. So uh, I wouldn't want lessons in operating heavy machinery from you guys.

I didn't say the French speak English horribly, but that non-english speakers don't buy a game that is only in English, and lots of people here in France don't speak it too good. I tried to explain why the French you meet in FFXI speak good English. Sorry if i got misunderstood... Must be my English lol. :D

And are people really arguing about the tactics used in Colonial warfare? At that time in the world it was considered honorable to face your opponent in combat. To run and hide was the way of the coward, this derives from medieval and renissance warfare tactics. When the way of the musket was introduced into the world, many of the tactics were still employed because the people who made the rules were knights and "gentlemen".

Whats funny is that this style of warfare was predominant all the way up until World War I during trench combat.

My comment was all in jest, but the French bailed us out against the English, we bailed out the French and the English in WWII (However not until we were attacked by Japan, gogo Jefferson Isolationism), and now Great Britian is one of our strongest allies. The French hate us because after WWII the center of the world is no longer Paris, but what can you do.

In the grand scheme of things, everyone has screwed over everyone else at least once throughout the course of history, and if it hasn't come yet, it will.

Oh and on topic, I think it will be good to have some more people playing the game.

Anyways, the French people are good, it's their painfully leftist government lead by Jock-Itch Sherac (sp but who cares amiright?) doesn't give them the proper info, and everything they are told is slanted so liberally that they aren't given a chance to think otherwise.
