Oh it's very possible to lose, like we lost Lebros because we just couldn't figure out what to do at all. So all you did was kill trolls?

Lebros:
We just beat it in 5minutes. Basically, someone aggroed a few troll and trained all around the place. I voked one of the train and it was hitting us for 0 dmg. We couldnt damage it either. After a few second, it turn out the guy was disguised as a troll and the rune popped.
I'm not sure if it popped when we trained stuff, or if it was in the middle of the room, but you just have to find the right one
Thats weird...
Our experience with Lebros: we saw we had 30 min and it was a small area so we just started killing everything. We killed everything in the center area and he said something about something idk, and we won.
We wern't fighting anything or had aggro to anything(at least I don't think) when we won.
Did you check the dmg you did on the last troll? We were doing 0 dmg on it until it disapeared, and we won not too long after.
Periquia:
Previous post pretty much covered it. I will only add that you can run away from lamia after being detected. If you ran out of their sight quickly, you can still "survive". If they are heading your way, jsut target them and walk back to the previous pillar and avoid her circling around it
Mamool Ja:
The right qirin for us was singing something with lalala. Forgot the exact line
Leujeuam
Not much to add here since it was covered already, but anyone figured what to do with grass? Couldnt find any use for them.
I'm not sure, but I think for this one, the number of point is #sheep saved *1000
Seems like the grass is just a variable point assault. The less damage the grass takes, the more points you get.
Well i will confirm this, i was just going to post this. It's really easy to travel if you're patient, can travel in pairs if you want to be 100% secure because one can "sac pull" a Lamia to allow you to get through, but that should not be needed. Activate the switches at the 4 cardinal points and get the Rune in the center room. The Puks are really weak, you don't need to travel in groups. Predator Claws one-shots them for 1600.Originally Posted by Kaylia
Ok, did this one too. First of all, lots of them don't have a clue. If you capture them, they'll stop talking to you ever and that may lower your reward (we captured LOTS of them and got 351 with 1st win bonus lol). One of them told us to go far northwest, up there one of them told us to go slightly east. And guess what, one guy in my team found the spy at the extreme northeast of the map. A Qiqirn told something like "the spy is very close" and the real spy told "the spy was just here for fun, you know".Originally Posted by Kaylia

I hate posts that take another post and quote it in its entirety. But what the hey, Sykes is from my LS (and he runs ffxiclopedia) <3<3Originally Posted by Sykes
Map is second from the bottom here.
To expand on this, you start the mission in the middle of H-9/I-9 facing North. The NPC's are BEHIND you to the SW (remember how Dynamis-Beaucedine was? Or Teleport-Yhoat?).
There is 1 sheep in each of the rooms at F-7/F-8, G-7, H-7/H-8, H-8, and I-9/J-9. You only need to click on the sheep to successfully add it to your flock for the mission, but the way into the room is blocked by an ice sphincter with columns of ice preventing movement.
To blow through these walls, you will need to trade a Shepherd (there are multiples, more on this later) a combined total of 20 Bronzepieces (he says 2x 10 bronze), 4 silver, or 1 gold. These are temporary items given to you by the Miner or Gambler, and will automatically be traded to the Shepherd one at a time simply by clicking him. He will not give you a running tally, and you can only carry one item or currency of each type at a time, so your best bet is to mine until you have a copper and silver ore (gold ores are pretty rare), run back to the Miner, click on him once for each ore, then click on the closest Shepherd until all your coins are gone (he says he needs 1 gold, 4 silver, or 2x 10 bronze in default state), or he tells you to take him to a sheep.
Once at a wall, he will place a mine and detonate it. It only takes two mines to remove a wall; however before the Shepherd will place another mine, he requires a random food item (Pamamas, Pamamas au Lait, and a Date were the 3 we got) acquired by harvesting 3 random produce items (Frost Turnip for example), and trading those in turn to the Harvester. Once he blows up the wall, you're free to run inside and click the sheep for additional points toward your goal. Clicking the sheep will also spawn an additional Shepherd who will walk around randomly. The areas inside also usually have additional Mining and Harvesting points available.
After freeing one sheep, the Rune of Release and treasure chest will appear at I-9 of the starting room. You can open the chest at any time, but I recommend not clicking the Rune until you're absolutely sure you cannot reach another sheep before time expires.
So, with that wall-o-text out of the way, here's the
Quick and Dirty method:
1) Everyone should be THF or /THF, and wear any and all movement enhancing gear they have for optimal opportunities at getting the most points out of this 15m mission. There are no monsters to fight.
2) Everyone immediately click the Harvester and Miner and get a pickaxe and sickle (temporary items).
3) 1 or 2 people should stay in the immediate vicinity and harvest/mine the points around the Qiqirn. There are 2 sheep nearby, and an extra Shepherd will appear at each sheep you free, though no additional miners or harvesters will appear.
4) In our experience, there are only 3 possible items you can get from each activity, Harvesting and Mining. If you get a Copper and a Silver ore from mining, just stop there and trade them to the Miner, then to the Shepherd, and go back to Mining. Trying to get a Gold Ore in addition to the other two wastes time, since you can only carry one of each item.
5) Try to split your time between mining and harvesting in the beginning. At the end of our run, we were stuck with just needing a Pamama, and all 3 of us had to Harvest items until someone got one.
6) DO NOT BOTHER GAMBLING. I don't care how lucky you think you are -- unless you want to toss your spare Bronze at him for a chance at a gold, you're just wasting silver pieces and a lot of precious time. Remember, you only need 1 Gold or 4 Silver to get a Shepherd to free a sheep.
7) We weren't able to confirm this, but apparently all Shepherds share a common coin pool. Meaning if you trade one Shepherd a Silverpiece, all of them will register the trade.
And that's my wall-o-text post for the month.
That's interesting. I didnt realize my vegetable were used for this
can you bring in items from the outside and trade the shepards? ie bs veggies from npcs and coins from IS?
I didn't try, but pretty sure you can't. You need the temporary version of the item.Originally Posted by Olorin
Cant even mine with outside pick axe too or they break 100% of the time.
I don't run ffxiclopedia ... or even really play a significant role in it. Q_QBut what the hey, Sykes is from my LS (and he runs ffxiclopedia) <3<3

Ilrusi Atoll- Searat Salvation - Save the Qiqirn Divers 30 mins
Your standard escort, with how good you do gets you more assault poinst twist. Start off by about 5 or 6 qiqirn diver npcs, and talk to them ato get them to follow you. Various Orobon are raoming the map, if a diver runs into one it runs away at about 12% faster then run speed (took a little to catch them in striders and they will eventually stop), lead them to the far NE side of the map and get the win. We only got 1 diver accross and got about 820 points.
Cleared all 5 Corporal rank assaults and talked to Naja and the other guy in her room and no CS's so time to wait for next update....? any other ranks/titles in the dat files? When completing the Toau missions Naja wants you to be the best mercenary and now seems you can't do anymore.
Nothing in the .DAT yet, just like when you cleared SP before. We just have to wait a few more months.
At least farming LC and C should be more palateable than a bunch of the first 3 tier assaults. Speaking of which, though, has anybody put much thought into what the best setups for farming will be, and which tiers to do?Originally Posted by Kuropiko
If you talk to that guy while working on the assaults he says you are well on your way to becomming a sergeant.
Not that anyone really cares.. but in most places sergeant is the highest rank non officers can get... I don't see the president sharing any real leadership authority with her mercenaries so if there are any more mercenary ranks they will be like master sergeant, sergeant major, etc type ranks.
We beat this last night as well. We started off by pulling/killing one at a time, but that just wasn't good enough for me (BRD), so I started to banishga/horde lullaby groups of trolls.Originally Posted by Kaylia
All monsters in the central room (bottom map) are labelled "Old Troll," and are the "special" RNG type. Meaning they have guns with some sort of explosive projectile that can hit for anywhere between 0 to 120 points, maybe higher if you have negative resists. They don't resist sleep.
So we ended up pulling/killing 2 Old Trolls, while I went around the room using Banishga and Horde Lullaby. In a bad case of unfortunate timing, we got the message that we found the Troll NM at a time when we were simultaneously defeating one of the Old Trolls, and one of my Banishga's landed. Because of this, I can't say if you need to actually _kill_ the Old Troll, or just damage him a little bit. Knowing S-E (and seeing how weak these trolls are), you just have to defeat him.
we beat this last night. We just killed each troll 1 by one, making sure that we avoided repeats(or respawns rather) upon killing the last troll that was up (that didnt respawn) he said ugh how did you find me etc etc....it has to do with just killing the troll
100% confirmation that its just a single troll.Originally Posted by Slott
