Anyway, everyone's apparently missing my point still.

The Luminants show as popped in several locations (except for two), they are on my mob NPC radar but are untargetable.

And no, I don't have it showing all targets where it shows even ones that are depopped.

Does this clear things up for you?

Please forgive this noob question. I am interested in trying to achieve the Regain Feather but I don't exactly know how to go about getting the key item. From what I understand is that Lumiere (or whatever the blue antlion is named), spawns in various locations but the "Loose Sand" you examine for the Key Item is in one location. Does that mean if Lumiere was clear on the opposite side of the map from the Loose Sand I'd have to run all the way over to it and examine it to get the Key Item and then begin my race to the top?

I wanted to try a few weeks ago but I could never find Lumiere to actually try. Examing the Loose Sand just gave me the message, "Nothing out of the ordinary... "

It's kind of funny that you were able to examine the Loose Sand, when the update notes just said it was untargettable. However, Lumiere is a mission NM and has nothing to do with getting the feathers. You want the Luminants that pop in various places. Touch one, then race to the top of the Tor before it decays once.

only person that I know personally that was able to get a feather was a Royale teammate of mine who had striders, crapton of powder boots and such and barely made it. I haven't seen him try after the update though

And tele hax. Unless there is a trick to make it last longer, it's impossible to get on top before the first thing wear off with powder boot or not. I've tried many time, and you will always get blocked by a black cloud, or luminant simply pop too far from entrance.

Being tractored and raised seem to be the only way to get there that fast (unless you lose it on the first tractor)

I wasn't there for when he got it but I know it took him quite a few tries and some luck to do. I myself have never tried as I have a hard time climbing the mountain as is >.>

Ah, that must be what I was doing wrong. I just assumed everyone was misspelling the blue antlions name when reffering to Luminants. This is great. =] I'll go examine one of these "Luminant"s when I get out of the office today and give it a shot. Do I need to kill anything or is it just a point of interest that I examine?

Read the update notes for tomorrow - they mention untargettable items in Attohwa (specifically the Loose Sand, which is a little different). Perhaps it gets fixed.

You just examine them and race to the top of the mountain, nothing to kill and none of the spawns are in an aggro area to 75 either.

It's possible legit, but the chances of you pulling it off are probably somewhere around under 1%.

You'd need BRD75, the Mazurka horn, a Hermes Quencher, THF sj and powder boots. And you'd need the Luminant to pop in the right place, too. There's a spot to the south of the start of the climb where it only takes a few seconds to get up to the mountain. From there, it's a combination of skill and more luck than you would feel good gambling on. I did it once legit, after trying at least 20 times with no luck.

Don't expect to be able to do anything epic with it, though. You can't use it while a 2hr is active, so if you're expecting an extra bar of MP for Chainspell, or 300% extra TP for Meikyo... sorry.

Still has its uses, but it's not worth hacking up the mountain for anymore.

there are a few epic uses i can think of.

Soloing gods is a big one.
Soloing an enm like brothers.
Pretty much any low man attempt used a full restore should something go wrong.
