Seriously- ask a few 75's on your server at random. Have they finished Zilart? CoP? Odds are, many more on Zilart than CoP. Making the storyline an unmentionable pain in the rear isn't fun. Yes, it was "easy" for some. Cookies for you.
IMHO, the toughest fights should NOT be the storyline ones. They should be completely optional, in fact. Did you have to beat the Emerald/Ruby Weapons to finish FFVII? Heck no. Was it fun to do? Sure was. You probably would have gone back, leveled up some more just so you could win against them. That's where the hardcore challenge should be.
Wouldn't mind seeing the storyline used as a method to unlock these, much like some optional dungeons/areas in other FF games are unlocked- like a big fight post-ToAU missions that took wearing a Glory Crown to enter.
