I said this before but what I think SE is doing is making two mission lines(well, duh). One with action/end-game rewards and one with plot and story. Assault and ToAU. So far they both are good in their own areas. It seems you will have two adventures with Naja, one advancing through the ranks and chasing after the Dark Rider/Odin and another dealing with the empire, the nation of Emphramad, and ruins of the Alzadaal Ruins(and the Astral Candescences). It seems at some point they might meet together(maybe Glory Crown is the final reward for Assault, but you need to do some missions for Naja to get it). Probably they will meet in the end like RoZ and CoP did.

Anyway, don't go and forget the 10 "zones" SE gave us with Assault in this (two/three part) upgrade so quickly.

Unless you simply don't give two-shits about the story(may you get hit by a bus if this is the case), ToAU is progressing fine in this area.

...damnit... come the fuck on SE. CoP's main redeeming factor were the missions, when done for the fun of themselves and not purely for the ring and/or limbus, were absolutely awesome. Now 3 hours and done. How lame.

People like this make me wish answers couldn't easily be found on the internet, as they would never get past lvl 60 or 65, whichever limit quest makes you find the NPC's scattered around the world. People who don't want to think and just expect the answers to be handed to them, and justify their need of it by espousing their laziness as if it were a virtue.

No, competitive games are meant to be won or lost, FFXI isn't a competitive game considering 95% of the things you accomplish are from SOMEONE helping you. Games like this are played for the sake of fun, and some people don't think wandering around for hours following vague clues is fun. Why do you care?

Stop being so melodramatic, and stop acting like you figured out every single aspect of FFXI on your own, with no help from your LS, websites such as this, or the FFXI community as a whole.

Ashu Talif BC piece of cake with NIN, RDM and BRD (mobs don't sleep, but don't hit hard, BRD is good for crowd controlling).

Gessho can be Protected, Shelled, and Hasted, and is a fuckin' demon in the BC. Has a decent bit of HP too.

Only things to really watch out for are erasing Dancing Chains and the Cap'n Vulcan Shot (the AoE damage thingy).

They sleep with ES. I don't know about brd lully but in the few bcs I did today, ES sleepga stuck nicely but without it they resisted almost 100%.

Of course you can quit now. I think it was funny SE said they didn't intend for this many people to be addicted this badly to FFXI. It is almost like saying "Man this game is absolute crap, I can't believe these retards are still playing it!". I still get some enjoyment out of FFXI myself, but it is mostly due to people I am friends with in the game. I am still fascinated though by some aspects. The fact is that SE is doing very little in the way to actually fix the real problems with FFXI (3 kings and the hardest mobs dropping loot that is crap compared to kings)... they are just polishing a turd really. In the end it is still a turd. We do alot of talking about quitting to show SE how fucked up their game is, but in the end it is just talk thus far. Would take an organized mass quitting on several big message boards to make SE notice at all. Still I doubt they would change much, they are already making another MMO and this one is probably not even worth fixing to them.

SE doesn't care about kings/HNMs, but they do care about missions/quests/stuff that makes FFXI unique. The first is the turd, however the second is just dandy. SE's problem is that they don't understand that people want them to change something they don't care about. To say the whole game is a turd is I can't agree with, however I think SE does a bad job at keeping a balance of things. This is probably because SE isn't just one group of people who agree but a couple of morons and a couple of creative people. Whoever is making the rewards for somethings is obviously in the claws of the moron portion. The doesn't suck, but if you are picky enough and care a bit too much about gear, you can make it suck for you.

If they care so much about missions they'd have put more then 2-3 hours of content in.

Having everyone wait 2 months for this update and effectively getting one worthless NM and 2 hours worth of missions is more or less a slap in the face. Unless Chocobo Breeding is totally mindblowing ToAU is taking a sharp dive into CoP shittiness. I'm gonna burn out merits for a week to get Chivalry Capped then it's back to spending all my free time in WoW.
