lol thank you guys for worrying. my sis and I were watching bill and ted's excellent adventure and then the next thing I knew, she was on the floor. it took about an hour and a half for her to come around. scariest thing i've ever felt, holding her in my arms on the way to the hospital while she was unconscious, not knowing if she was ok.

the test results didn't show anything so tomorrow we have to take her to a neurologist for more tests. don't expect to see me in WoW any this week.

Same thing happened to my younger brother about 10 years ago, I was really young, and didnt know what was happening, was probably one of the scariest moments in my life. So I can sympathize with you. Supposedly he had some kind of seizure (the medical name escapes me atm) where you get it once, and never again. It's not really for a specific reason, and it doesnt mean you're prone to them, just sometimes they creep up on people. Hopefully this is the case in your sister's situation.

The next time that happens you need to dial 911. Depending on the severity of her attack, she may need some Vicodin to bring her out of it, something a paramedic can help you with. It sounds like everything went ok this time, but in the future she may have a grand mal seizure which can increase the chance of brain damage if not fixed quickly. Also, epileptic patients often salivate while seizing, and that saliva can occlude her airway which needs to be suctioned out immediately or she could aspirate it and go into respiratory arrest and asphyxiate to death. A paramedic can also intubate patients in respiratory arrest which will increase their chance of survival and lowers the risk of brain damage.

If this happens again the best thing you can do for her is dial 911 and don't put anything in her mouth. Move her away from objects that could cause trauma to her during the seizure so she doesn't turn into a medical and trauma patient. Also, if you haven't already, it would be good time for you to learn CPR.

Don't take everything I said to heart though, I'm just an EMT; your doctor will have better advice than me. I do hope she gets better though. Good luck!

On topic, sorry to hear that happened Setsuko. I have a friend whose mother recently had a seizure, and she's pulling through quiet well. I'm hoping your sister has the same luck. (Gir says hi.. I'm sorry.)
