Also MtG has a lot of startegy involved, Yugi Oh *ithink for the trap cards) sucked hardcore, cause you would beatdwon everything, no strat involved..
But meh, to each his own
when I was playing they took away interrupts altogether, and stuff like Counterspell and Dark Ritual were changed to instants. I quit Magic around the time they started the morphing creatures stuff, where they were summoned face-down to begin with or some such.Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus
Magic is a hell of a game, but it can never be perfect as long as they keep releasing new cards, because something new always is fucking broken as all hell in type 1 or classic or w/e they call it now.
Thereby getting you to buy new cards, which is the whole idea. (I worked for WoTC.)
All CCG's function this way in the end. After all, do they make money if you don't buy their stuff by the case?
And the original term in M:TG for "manaburn" was getting cooked for automatic life loss by excess mana in one's mana pool, not mass-incinerating something with direct damage spells. That'd be "Channelball", as in tap mountain, sac Black Lotus, cast Channel for GG, turn 19 life into colorless mana, pan-fry opponent for 20 (all) of his life with Fireball or Disintergrate.
Man, I loved Force of Will. Then of course they put in Kaervek's Torch to counter that, and so on, and so forth...
